Scarterra is a dangerous place, so everyone wants protection from
something. Therefore, it's not a surprise that Protection theurgy is one of the more commonly seen spheres. Protection theurgists are hard to pigeonhole. Many are valorous and courageous defenders of the weak and others are cowards focused primarily on their self-preservation and there are many in between these two extremes. Some Protection theurgists are skilled warriors are others are paper pushing pacifists.
The deities associated with the Protection sphere are equally diverse,
Mera,
Greymoria,
Hallisan, and
Phidas all gift their theurgists with a natural affinity towards Protection.
(Wits + Enigmas/Theology)
● Pacifist's Protection: Enemies have to get a single success on a Willpower roll (or Stamina if they lack Willpower) in order to attack caster for one scene. Willpower difficulty is 3+ number of successes rolled. This effect is broken if the caster makes an attack or behaves overtly aggressively.

●● Elemental Protection: One target gains two soak dice versus energy attacks per success for a scene. This stacks with mundane armor if applicable, but it does not stack with other magical forms of protection. Range is normally touch. Range can be line of sight if caster takes a +1 penalty.

●●● Intangible Protection: One target per success is protected. Difficulty to hit them with ranged and melee attacks goes up by +1. Difficulty to target them with hostile spells goes up by +1. Range is line of sight.

●●●● Durable Protection: Gain a temporary soak pool against damage for a scene equal to successes. Stacks with armor. One target per spell. Range is normally touch. Range can be line of sight if caster takes a +1 penalty.

●●●●● Mystic Protection: The character can create a temporary "soak" against hostile spells. Each success rolled is "stored" and used at the theurgist's whim negating enemy spells on a one-for-one basis.
