The Founders' Fair
Swynfaredia has many regional market fairs of varying size, but the Founders' Fair is the most prestigious and exclusive market fair in Swynfaredia.
History
Swynfaredia has has had trade fairs periodically since its founding, but they only had "the Founders Festival" for less than three hundred years. The Founder's personally sponsored by Queen of Swynfaredia (or the king).
Execution
The primary focus of the Founder's Festivals is on magic. While there is a heavy trade in potions and reagents, permanent magical items can be bought and sold here.
The secondary focus beyond magic is on very high end luxury items. Fine garments, jewelry, antiques and other very valuable non-magical items are bought and sold at this Fair.
Since you have have lots of sorcerers and sorcerers in one place, there is a lot of social posturing. There are mainly greatly anticipating magical contests and tournaments associated with the Founder's Fair and very magic heavy entertainments such as illusion packed draconic circle plays among more exotic entertaintments.
Participants
Compared to most other high profile trade fairs, the number of participants is fairly small since the Founder's Fair is extremely exclusive. There is naturally very tight security to guard the VIPs and the very valuable treasures being traded here.
Most of the main attendees are of course Swynfaredian Dragonbloods but they usually have a few non-sorcerous retainers and servants in tow.
It wouldn't be much of a trade fair if it was only Swynfaredians. Like more public trade fairs, this is still a world famous event and attendees travel for hundreds of miles to attend. Even wizards and warlocks can get an invitation if they are selling valuable goods.
Observance
The Founder's Fair lasts six days and oerlaps with the Zodiac holiday known as the Apex of Greymoria which is the 30th day of Thrimilch on the Scarterran Farmers' Calendar and is roughly analogous to late June on Earth.
