Various Tips for Abilities to take

Don't be a one-trick pony or painfully average, you should at least be able to do two or three things very well.     Can your character speak his/her native tongue and the language of the dominant group in your main setting? If the answer is no, you need at least one dot of Linguistics. This applies to gnomes, elves, dwarves, kalazotz and any character that traveled a long distance to get to the current setting.     Unless you want to roleplay an arc where a character needs to find his/her confidence, you probably want to raise your Willpower to at least 5. If you want to be a spell-caster, that's required.     If you character is well traveled, he or she should probably have at least a dot of Survival and Ride.       If your character grew up on a farm you probably should have at least a dot of Animal Ken and Hearth Wisdom.     If your character has a criminal background it he or she should probably have at least a dot of Alertness, Stealth, and Subterfuge.     If you character grew up as highborn or retainer to highborn, you probably should have at least a dot of Politics and Etiquette.     If your character grew up idolizing great heroes he or she should probably have a least a dot of History.     If you character had a relatively active childhood, he or she should probably have a dot of Athletics and Brawl.     If your character had a monastic education, he or she probably has a dot of Theology or Engimas even if he or she isn't a theurgist. A dot of Etiquette or History is likely.     Maylar worshiping characters probably have at least a dot of Animal Ken, Athletics, Brawl, Intimidation, and, Melee Survival     Mera worshiping character probably have at least a dot of Empathy, Etiquette and either Hearth Wisdom or Medicine.   Korus worshiping characters probably have at least a dot of Animal Ken, Hearth Wisdom, and Survival     Nami worshiping characters probably have at least a dot of Alertness, Athletics, Dodge, and Survival     Greymoria worshiping characters probably have at least a dot of Hearth Wisdom, Intimidation, and Subterfuge     Khemra worshiping characters probably have at least a dot of Etiquette, History, and Politics     Zarthus worshiping characters probably have at least a dot in Athletics, Crafts, Politics, and Expression or Performance     Hallisan worshiping characters probably have a dot in Crafts and Melee     Phidas worshiping characters probably have a dot in Commerce, Politics, and Subterfuge     If your character is a satyr, it would be very unusual if he or she doesn't have at least a dot of Athletics, Brawl, and Performance.     If your character is a gnome, it would be very unusual if he or she doesn't have at least a dot in Empathy, Expression, and Subterfuge.     If your character is a dwarf, it would be very unusual if he or she doesn't have at least a dot in Melee and Crafts.     If your character is an elf, it would be very unusual if he or she doesn't have at least a dot of Archery, History, Hearth Wisdom     If your character is not much of a fighter, he or she can at least take a dot of Melee and take a specialization in "parrying" for a modicum of defense.
