Wrath theurgy tends to focus on softening up enemies before or during an engagement before the final blow is struck. Wrath theurgy tends to be brutal and direct.
Maylar is rather brutal and direct, so it is no surprise that Maylar's followers often show a special aptitude for Wrath theurgy. But every deity in Scarterra has a least a few followers who are brutal and direct, so Wrath theurgists can be found in small numbers in a great many religious orders.
Manipulation + Theology
• Restless Retribution: The novice Theurgist expresses divine displeasure by spreading exhaustion to his foes.
If the casting roll is successful, one target in the caster’s line of sight must make a fatigue check. This spell ignores any previous normal fatigue checks the subject may have experienced, but subsequent castings of this spell will boost the difficulty of those checks.

•• Retribution of Pain: Contested roll against target’s Willpower. If the caster is successful, the target suffers double wound penalties. Spending Willpower to reduce wound penalties removes the doubled effect, but the target still suffers normal wound penalties. Someone under the effect of this power and Embody ••• has no wound penalties. Range of this is line of sight.
Instant
••• Wrathful Weapon: The Theurgist imbues divine wrath within a weapon, causing it to inflict wounds that bleed profusely, continuing to damage.
The caster touches the weapon to be imbued (hands and feet can count as weapons for the purposes of this power). Each success on the casting roll adds a charge to the weapon. When the weapon damages a target, a charge is expended. In subsequent turns on the caster’s initiative, the target takes a level of lethal damage that cannot be soaked with armor. The bleeding continues until the subject is treated, any use of Healing magic will stanch the wound, and Medicine can be used as well.
Persistent
•••• Retribution of the Skin: The target’s skin erupts in massive bruises.
The target suffers levels of bashing damage equal to the success on the casting roll that cannot be soaked with armor. Range is line of sight. This spell cannot be dodged or blocked, but it can be soaked with a character's base Stamina attribute.
Instant
•••• Retribution of the Body: In the ultimate expression of divine displeasure, the theurgist’s invocation causes bones to shatter and lacerations to break out.
Each success on the casting roll causes one level of physical attribute damage and one level of lethal damage divided among as many targets as desired within the caster’s line of sight. Each level of attribute damage must be accompanied by a level of lethal damage. The attribute damage may be soaked with stamina, and the lethal damage cannot be soaked by armor. It can only be soaked by Stamina if the character possesses some form of extraordinary supernatural resistance.
