yol'tiacah
"Yol'tiacah" is an informal but respected honorific favored by many kalazotz to honor their war heroes.
History
"Yol'tiacah" translates into "brave one". In the Zocatec language, many honorifics start with "yol". "Wise one", "clever one", "generous one" etc.
The camazotz have lots of titles for war heroes, "tenacious one", "cunning one", "mighty one", etc but the more peaceful kalazotz have deemphasized their cultural focus on violence but the kalazotz are not pacifists. They will give the title "yol'tiacah" to those who fight bravely for the defense of their people though they have abandoned most of the other war titles camazotz developed.
Cultural Significance
It means that the kalazotz recognize a warrior was tested in the field and acquitted himself or herself well.
