( The chapter opens with Keira, Sam, and Ace all walking off the legionary ship at Longra milli, early in the morning. )
Keira: Tenebris said that this was the closet island to tempura, maybe someone here knows something about it.
Ace: If were looking for information, I know just the man were looking for.
(they all start walking down the road)
Sam: I wonder what the message from Jyo is?
Keira: Jyo has been known from their prophets, unfortunately that's all their known for. they rarely interact with the other kingdom powers. which makes me even more curious, how they could know about Tenebris.
Sam: He did become a little famous in Egran.
Keira: Even then, Jyo didn't send aid in the battle against Egran.
Sam: Maybe someone in Jyo knows him, I mean you didn't know he was alive until a little while ago, they probably just found out too.
Keira: maybe...there is one person who was in the legions around the time tenebris was.
Sam: Really?
Keira: The immortal knight of Jyo. A'zik Morrus. He was an immortal knight when I was a child.
Sam: and your old, so he must be ancient then.
Keira: (comedically sad) thanks Sam. Ace: that's tough mi amor.
(they walk up to Jaeja's tavern)
Ace: Welcome to the Valkyrie's Rest. Care for a drink?
Keira: A tavern? really?
Ace: ah, but is not just any tavern La inmortal, it is the best tavern this side of the 5 seas.
(they walk into Jaeja's tavern)
Jaeja: hey! uh oh, we got some legionaries in here. welcome to the club.
Ace: (walks towards Jaeja) Ahh, Jaeja! always quick with a joke.
Jaeja: you know I got em in spades!
Ace: ahh! you kill me mi amigo.
Jaeja: what can I do for ya Ace?
Ace: I got some friends here looking for some information.
Jaeja: Well your in the right place, what's up?
Keira: do you know anything about Tempura?
Jaeja: Tempura? I know quite a bit, anything in specific?
Keira: We're looking for a man named Tenebris, we were told he would be around here.
Jaeja: Tenebris, Tenebris...doesn't ring a bell. can I ask why your looking for him, is he like a criminal or something?
Keira: no, he's a friend of ours.
Jaeja: Friends huh? (looks at them suspiciously) Come on back. Mr. Joel take over the bar for me for a sec.
Joel: what?
(Ace, Keira, and Sam follow Jaeja into his office and sit down)
Jaeja: look, I don't know why your looking for Tenebris, but your not going to find him.
Keira: what?
Jaeja: your not the first ones that have come looking for him, and the last guy who asked about him tried to kill him. So what is it you actually want with him?
Keira: Exactly what we said, we're just friends who want to talk with him.
Ace: we have a message for him. from the king. (takes out the letter with the royal seal of Jyo on it)
Jaeja: (takes and looks at the letter, then hands it back) I suppose you are telling the truth. How does an immortal knight get wrapped up with tenebris?
Keira: we met him at trinity.
Sam: We helped him and Arthor get Karri back from the Kongur.
Jaeja: You fought against the Kongur eh? I didn't realize Tenebris had any other friends. well it is a pleasure to meet you...(puts his hand out)
Keira: Keira. (shakes his hand)
Sam: Sam. (shakes his hand)
Keira: how do you know tenebris?
Jaeja: oh, Me and Tenebris go way back. but that's a story for another time.
Keira: You said we wouldn't be able to find him, why not?
Jaeja: Well, He's on tempura. I would take you there myself but I wont be able to.
Keira: Because if the barrier right?
Jaeja: yes. to bypass the barrier you need a key blade, problem is tenebris and one other person are the only ones in possession of a key blade. we wouldn't be able to pass through the barrier...at least not yet.
Keira: what do you mean?
Jaeja: the barrier completely isolates them from the outside world. which means they only have a limited amount of supplies. Tenebris opens up the barrier at set times throughout the month so I can give them more supplies.
Keira: when's the next resupply then?
Jaeja: I just got back yesterday, so little less than a week.
Sam: that would give us time to investigate the Kongur activity around the islands.
Keira: is there a place to stay in this town?
Jaeja: There's an inn down the street, I could get you a room there.
Keira: Thank you.
Jaeja: my pleasure.
Ace: We'll continue our patrols, but only after a few drinks.
Jaeja: Then what are we waiting for? (it cuts to Ace and some other legionaries clanking their glasses together and having a good time. Keira and Sam are sitting at the bar away from everyone else.) you got something against having a bit of fun?
Keira: no, just not that kind of fun.
Jaeja: I get that. Its not really my speed either.
Sam: don't you run this tavern?
Jaeja: Yes, and mighty well I may add...but I have had my fair share of "that" fun.
Keira: you said you and Tenebris go way back, but how far?
Jaeja: Oh well, ever since I came to Longra milli, almost 60 years ago. yet he's still looks as young as the day he came into tavern. Not fair you know.
Keira: (Thinking) 60 years. all that time alone on tempura. no wonder his memory is that foggy.
Jaeja: (he sets to glasses down)
Keira: is that...
Jaeja: A bit of dark rum, and ginger beer.
Keira: that's my favorite drink...how'd you know?
Jaeja: once you've been in the business as long as I have you get pretty good at reading people.
Sam: Chocolate milk! I love chocolate milk. your good.
Keira: how much?
Jaeja: for friends of Tenebris, its on the house. Knowing Tenebris and the legions are involved in something probably doesn't mean anything good. So If I can make it even a little better why wouldn't I?
Keira: Thank you.
Jaeja: (grabs his own drink) To the good times
(the three clank glasses)
CHAPTER 111 THE FRIEND OF MY FRIEND IS MY FRIEND
(the chapter opens with the Kongur hideout in barrok)
Raxis: What is the report on the immortal?
Valka: she boarded a legionary ship at Eastpoint. heading into the archipelago.
Raxis: hmm. Gregor. get your ship ready.
Valka: Don't tell me we are going to follow her.
Raxis: Tenebris is hiding out there with the keys to the one goal I've been trying to achieve my whole life. I'm not going to let the legions stop me.
Valka: my lord, we are in no state to fight tenebris let alone the immortal.
Raxis: ...as much as I hate to admit it...you are correct. but I don't plan on fighting her.
Valka: Then what are we going to do about them?
Raxis: Find someone who can
Valka: My lord, she is the first ranked immortal, there no one could stand against that power.
Raxis: then we corrupt someone who is.
Valka: Who?
Raxis: Corvis Rex.
Gregor: the captain of the dead stars? but he's imprisoned in renna.
Raxis: so we brake him out.
Valka: Renna is the capital. it will be crawling with legionaries.
Raxis: We have faced the legions before.
Gregor: if we did brake him out, Theirs still no guarantee that he would agree to help us.
Raxis: (his eyes glow black and red and the blade starts glowing) I wasn't planning on asking.
(his eyes and blade stop glowing) go. (gregor and the others leave the room leaving Raxis and Valka)
Valka: My lord are you sure about this, we don't have the resources to follow through this plan.
(Raxis eyes glow bright black as he looks at her)
Raxis: Are you questioning me?
Valka: ...no...forgive me.
Raxis: (his eye stop glowing) We leave for Renna as soon as possible.
(it cuts back to Keira and Sam walking through Longra milli. )
Keira: We will start on the center islands, they are more densely populated, if the Kongur are "feeding" on the orku of people then that's where they'll be.
Sam: the furthest center island is less than 3 days away, if we take this path we should be back in time to leave with Jaeja. (she holds up a map)
Keira: great, lets get going. (they walk up to Ace who is waiting at the docks with a few other legionaries. )
Ace: Ready to go?
(it cuts to a panel of the boat sailing, then inside the bridge with Keira, Sam, ace, and a few other legionaries looking at a ap of the area)
Ace: so far there have not been any reports from our patrols of any Kongur activity. If they are moving they are covering their tracks very well.
Keira: it makes no sense, their path clearly heads east, then it just stops in Aguilas. Unless they wanted us to think they were moving east.
Ace: It is possible, they were trying to throw us off their trail. but then the question is if they are not going to the archipelago, where are they going?
(it cuts to a shot of Renna at night, then to the prison. then to Corvis cell where he sits with his arms bandaged. it cuts to the outside wall of the prison where guards are standing at the front gate. A hooded figure starts walking up to the guards)
Legionary: Citizen this is a restricted area, please move away.
(the hooded figure): Could you help me?
Legionary 2: no, remove yourself from the premises before we have to remove you.
(The hooded figure): (continues walking towards them)
(One of the legionaries takes out their weapon and walks towards the figure. The figure grabs the legionaries throat and starts draining his orku. The other legionary runs over and swings his sword at the figure who grabs the sword and shatters it. then throws the Legionary he's holding into the other one. Legionaries from on the wall see this)
Legionary 3: sound the alarm, were under...(his neck gets snapped by Nyx. Nyx looks over and Nox took care of the guards on the other side of the wall. they open the gate and Raxis looks up from under the hood with Valka and Ehud trailing behind him. they walk in and guards take out their weapons and run at the intruders. Valka and Ehud start fighting the Legionaries, as Raxis continues walking. he brakes down the door into the prison, where more guards are waiting. his eye's turn black as he holds out his hand black fire appears and the chaos blade appears from the flames. the guards run up and Raxis cuts them down easily. Several try shooting him but his eyes glow dark pink and black vines shoot up from the ground and cover all the legionaries. he closes his hand and thorns burst out from the vines. he moves his hand and the vines clear a path to more legionaries who start backing up and shooting. Raxis eyes glow dark blue and the chaos blade spins around super fast in front of Raxis, blocking all the orku bullets. (it cuts to the center of the prison where the master class legionary warden is standing talking with other legionaries. a legionary burst into the room)
Legionary: The prisons under atta...(gets stabbed through the chest with the chaos blade, it starts flying back down the hall. the legionaries look down the hall and see Raxis walking towards them as the chaos blade returns to his hand. )
Warden: Send out the signal! (they grab their weapon and put their masks on as a massive burst of power surges around them. They run towards the hall as the other legionaries start leaving the room. One pulls a lever as he runs out and the lights turn red and bells start ringing. it cuts outside where the other Kongur higher ups are fighting. )
Valka: there's the alarm, lets get what we need and get out of here, the royals will be on their way soon.
(it cuts back to the warden standing at the end of the hall they close the doors behind them and crushes them together. )
Raxis: where is Corvis?
Warden: Like I would tell you.
Raxis: There is a difference between bravery and foolishness.
Warden: aghhh! (starts running towards Raxis)
(it cuts to Valka and the others running down the hall and find Raxis holding the warden by the throat his skin like stone, blood covering Raxis clothes. )
Raxis: Corvis is in the right wing of the prison. (it cuts to Corvis looking out of his cell and seeing all the legionaries running away from something. he gets up and walks over to the bars)
Corvis: what's going on? Hey!? Where are you going! ( the hall clears and he sees Raxis walk towards his cell. ) You! why are you here!?
Raxis: I thought I would drop by and see the famous captain of the dead stars.
Corvis: You bastard, did you just come here to mock me!?
Raxis: No, I have a plan and your part of it.
Corvis: What plan could you possibly need me for.
Raxis: you'll find out soon enough (he slices the bars in half with his sword. ) but first were getting out of here. (he starts walking down the hall with the Kongur)
Cepheus: Captain! who are these people?
Corvis: if I'm going with you I need what's left of my crew.
Valka: we dont need your crew...
Raxis: ...very well. (he cuts the bars off of Cepheus and Leo's cells)
Valka: (to Raxis) what are you doing they are of no use to us....
Raxis: ...Silence. ( his eyes glow and he stabs his blade into the ground. Black ichor runs along the ground and a void portal opens up. )
Corvis: what kind of power is this?
Raxis: stop asking questions. (the Kongur and the dead stars walk through the portal and Raxis enters last, the portal closes behind him and it cuts to the other gregor ship where they step through the portal Raxis steps through.)
Gregor: welcome back, I see the mission was a success.
Raxis: yes, now lets get going.
(it cuts back later that night at the prison, Sol walks in with magi and other legionaries and sees all the dead legionaries. )
Magi: what on Landavaan happened here?
Sol: (kneels down closer to the statue like warden) whatever it was, I don't think it was human.
CHAPTER 112 PRISON BREAK
(the chapter opens on Gregor's ship with the Kongur and the dead star pirates. Raxis tries walking but he stumbles to his knees, Valka tries to help him)
Corvis: You seam to be different from the last time we met. (he smiles slightly)
Raxis: I could say the same about you. (corvis smile fades)
Corvis: lets get to the point. why would my biggest competitor in the underground go through the trouble of breaking me and my crew out of a legionary prison.
Raxis: I believe we have a common enemy. A white haired man with teal eyes and bandages on his right arm.
Corvis: (his eyes light up red) Tenebris.
Raxis: He is the reason I am what you see now.
Corvis: let me guess, you want my help in taking him down don't you.
Raxis: Yes.
Corvis: well aint that something...The Forgotten King himself begging for my Help. I thought that you were the strongest being on Landavaan?
Raxis: (his eyes flash red and black) I suggest you stop talking before I rip out your throat.
Corvis: Big words from a man who can barely stand.
Raxis: ARGHA (he goes forward and puts the chaos blade up to Corvis throat. Corvis stands unflinching Leo's eyes light up and he punches a kongur and they fall back. Cepheus elbows another in the face and grabs his weapon and sends him to the ground)
Corvis: Lets get one thing straight. You have something I want, and I have something you want. We can stand here and fight, or we could make a deal.
Raxis: (his eyes glowing red, puts down the sword) A deal?
Corvis: The dark energy. I assume that is what has turned you into whatever you are. I want its power. in exchange I will help you kill tenebris.
Raxis: is that all?
Corvis: After he's dead, I want Full Control of the western underground.
Valka: I told you this was a bad idea.
Raxis: Quiet.
Corvis: what do ya say? (puts his hand out)
Raxis: As long as you hold up your End, I will hold up mine.
Corvis: I am many things, but a Liar is not one of them.
Raxis: You have a deal then (he grabs his and and black energy starts flowing into Corvis)
Corvis: AgggAGHHHH! (he starts falling to his knees)
Leo and Cepheus: Captain!
Corvis: Stay back! (his eyes turn black and the bandages rip off as two smaller horns grow from his forehead, and Raxis lets go and they both fall to their knees.)
Cepheus: what did you do to him you son of a...( holds up his sword and Nyx and Nox hold up their daggers)
Corvis: (one eye turns back to normal) hehehe..
Cepheus: Captain?
Corvis: HehaHAHAHAHA (He slams his hand into the deck and it cracks the deck) Finally, After all these Years, The dark energy is mine! (he continues laughing as he looks into the sky)
(it cuts to Keira, Sam, and Ace on their ship a day later. Keira and Sam are looking at the ships map on the bridge and Ace is listening to legionary. he nods and walks over to Keira and Sam. )
Ace: We just received reports of capital prison's alarms going off.
Keira: The capital? Cause?
Ace: invasion.
Sam: by who
Ace: unknown, but I can assume who.
Keira: how far are we from the capital?
Ace: several days out. there's no way that we could trail the attackers.
Keira: (slams her hands down on the table. was this their plan the whole time!? lead us all the way out here so that they could break into the capital prison?
Ace: possibly. or they could be two completely other attackers, theirs no way we could have known.
Keira: where there any Kongur prisoners?
Ace: None.
Keira: then why would they do something as dangerous as attacking the capital? it seems like we're always 2 steps behind them.
Ace: the patrols in the area have not reported anything. we should get going.
Keira: yeah..yes, sorry. Lets just get the message to tenebris before they attack again.
Ace: very well. Vamos a movernos! (the ship starts turning around and Keira walks off the bridge Sam closely behind her. )
Sam: there's no way we could've known.
Keira: are you sure? are you absolutely positive that we didn't miss anything?
Sam: Yes, you cant blame yourself.
Keira: We are seen as the protectors of the kingdoms. Everyone looks to us for safety and I failed them.
Sam: you are Apcee's immortal knight not Elvo's
Keira: and yet both of us let the Kongur walk right into another capital and do what they want. its my job to stop them before anyone else gets hurt, I don't plan on failing again. (she walks away. Leaving Sam standing in the hall)
CHAPTER 113 THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY IS STILL MY ENEMY
(The chapter opens with Ace, Keira, and Sam on the legionary ship deck looking out as they pull into the dock of Longra milli in the morning. the walkway goes down and Keira and Sam go to walk down but stop)
Ace: I suppose this is where our paths separate.
Keira: I suppose it is.
Sam: we'll be back to visit sometime.
Ace: I would enjoy that, Amor.
Keira: thank you for all that you have done for us.
Ace: of course. I wish you the best of luck on your journey. (hands her the message)
Keira: Same to you. (she takes it)
Ace: I will continue the search for the Kongur, and put a stop to them, for you and for my Kingdom.
Keira: be careful out there, the Kongur are strong and very dangerous.
Ace: I believe it. but that does not detour us from fighting the good fight.
Keira: no it doesn't. take care. (Sam and Keira start walking down the walkway. it cuts to them walking through the town)
Sam: I cant wait to meet up with Tenebris and arthor and the others again.
Keira: I would be lying if I said I was not excited at all. but we must remember the purpose of our visit. (holds up the message)
Sam: right.
Jaeja: well what perfect timing.
Sam: Hi Jaeja!
Jaeja: I was just about to take some of the supplies down to the ship, care to help.
Sam: Of course.
Jaeja: excellent the supplies are right outside the shop on a cart. I'll lock up and head over there if you guys want to get started.
Sam: sounds good. ( It cuts to Keira and Sam at the docks with the cart. Jaeja walks up. )
Jaeja: alright, lets get a move on, my ship is down here. (they follow him to a small trader ship and they start stocking it. it cuts to them a little bit later with Sam putting down the last create on the ship)
Sam: that's the last of it.
Jaeja: Thank you again so much for helping out this old man.
Keira: anytime.
Jaeja: (he unties the rope and walks to the wheel) Alright, lets go! (his eyes light up and the boat starts turning out to sea and Sam puts down the sails and they start really going. it cuts to Tempura where Tenebris is walking, he walks up to the gang at the training ground.)
The Gang: morning.
Tenebris: morning. (looks around) where's arthor?
Karri: He wasn't at home when I left this morning.
Tenebris: skipping out on group training again? well then lets not waste any more time, remember we're ending early to help Jaeja with the resupply.
Gang: right!
Tenebris: today is endurance day. so lets get going. 1 lap around the island, if I catch anyone they have to start over. your head start starts now. (all of their eyes start glowing and they run off into the forest. it cuts to arthor off in the forest running through the trees. jumps and grabs a branch and spins and jumps off of it with a burst of red energy sending him flying forward, he dodges between several trees and jumps off another with a burst of red energy, he flies forward with his dagger drawn. he slashes a dummy hiding in the trees and flips and lands on the ground, where a trap triggers sending a tree trunk swinging at him his eyes glow and he slices the trunk clean in half and continues into running. he gets to a clearing and steps on a button as he runs that shoots several arrows at him. he dodges all of them and catches one and flips and lands behind another dummy and spins and stabs the arrow into its head. )
Arthor: "hugh" "hugh" "hugh" "hugh". hm. (takes a look at a clock in a nearby shed.) 6 minuets. "hugh" I need to be faster! (he punches the dummy and its head explodes. he goes and sits down on a rock and drinks some water) again!
(it cuts back over to Jaeja's ship in the evening)
Jaeja: we should be arriving at the edge of the barrier soon.
Keira: where is it?
Jaeja: the barrier starts about 50m from the edge of the island or so, we'll wait there until tenebris opens the barrier.
Keira: how do you know when the barriers open
Jaeja: you'll know.
( it cuts to Tenebris standing at the training ground)
Tenebris: You did much better than last time, I only caught each of you less than 8 times. it pans out to show machi, lykoi, ulfer, and karri on their backs on the ground out of breath.)
Tenebris: well, Jaeja should be waiting to be let inside, I'll go let him in, you guys catch up when your ready.
Machi: "wheezing" yehp...we'll...be right there... (it cuts to Tenebris on the small boat going out and the light shining)
Tenebris: welcome back Jaeja, what you got for us this time? (sees Keira and Sam) what?
CHAPTER 114 THE SETTING SUN
(The chapter opens with Tenebris, Jaeja, Keira, and Sam on their ships)
Sam: Hello again!
Tenebris: Hello? I'm confused, what are you guys doing here?
Keira: we have a lot of stuff to talk about.
Tenebris: Yeah we do. but lets get to land first.
Keira: right, your friend here has supplies.
Jaeja: I got the goods!
(it cuts to them at the sailing into the dock)
Machi: what took you so long!? (the gang sees Keira and Sam) oh.
Sam: You guys look so much older! (she hops off the boat and walks up to them) Machi, I like the beard.
Machi: well its been over 4 years since you saw us last.
Sam: Sam: 4 years!? Keira said that the barrier messed with time, but I didn't know it would be 4 years.
Lykoi: it has only been a couple months for you right?
Sam: yeah. good to see your still doing good. (pets ulfer) I see you've gotten used to the warmer weather. and You look much happier arthor.
Karri: (staring at Sam in a daze)...huh? oh, no I'm not arthor....
Sam: oh. sorry about that.
Karri: what are doing here you guys doing here?
Keira: we have some important matters to discuss with you all. It involves the Kongur.
Tenebris: Good, that's exactly what I was going to discuss. we can share our findings lover dinner. (it cuts over to Ace's ship where he stands on the bridge. a legionary is sitting at a station with a headset on. he listens closely and takes the headset off)
Legionary: Sir we have a distress signal coming in from a legionary warship.
Ace: where are they?
Legionary: they are off the coast of Galicia.
Ace: Set a course top speed. ( it cuts to the gang at tenebris house with Machi cooking and the Rest of the gang sitting around his house. )
Keira: For the past several months Sam and I have been trailing The higher ups of the Kongur. We picked up their trail in Thae, when a demon appeared in a small town near the north border. Tenebris there have been 9 demon sightings in the past month alone.
Tenebris: 9?
Keira: all of them had been previous Legionaries. each sighting getting closer to tempura.
Tenebris: If you are saying they will come for us I'm sorry to say they already have.
Keira: what do you mean?
Tenebris: Several months ago a man infiltrated the island.
Sam: how is that possible?
Tenebris: He had a Key blade, one that was given to him by a messenger of Egran as he claimed. turns out it was a Kongur spy who gave it to him. He said he was a royal assassin.
Keira: A royal assassin?
Tenebris: he called himself death.
(Keira and Sam look at each other)
Tenebris: that's not all. he was Tempurian.
Keira: (shocked) what? there's another Tempurian?
Tenebris: I could hardly believe it myself. but there was no mistaking it.
Sam: what happened to him?
Tenebris: He came to take my life and to take arthor and karri back to the Kongur, but we stopped him.
Machi: that's one word for what happened.
Sam: what's that supposed to mean?
Tenebris: If he had not held back, he would have destroyed Tempura, and us along with it.
Keira: That kind of power...That's on par with Immortal knights. how could someone like that go unnoticed for so long?
Tenebris: He said the kingdom powers had found him and kept him as a royal assassin. one they could use to take out powerful legionaries who got out of line.
Keira: So we were too late.
Tenebris: no. Actually you have gotten here at the perfect time. (it cuts to Tenebris walking out of his room and putting a book down on the table.)
Keira: what is this?
Tenebris: for the longest time, I believed the prophecy of the oncoming storm was it...until I found this.
(Keira picks it up and reads it)
Tenebris: This is Taresseus personal journal. Lykoi Translate it from an ancient language into common.
Keira: I don't understand.
Tenebris: Taresseus wasn't preparing the legions to stop the Oncoming storm...but to face it.
Sam: So that means...
Tenebris: The storm has already started.
Keira: so the six figures it spoke of, they were the immortal knights.
Tenebris: Far as we know.
Keira: well...thats...thats great to know...
Lykoi: that is not a guarantee though. we still have no idea how far away these events are. the first recorded event was more than 2000 years ago.
Tenebris: was there anything else you wanted to tell us?
Keira: (kinda dazed) huh...yeah. yeah...(she takes out a letter and hands it to tenebris.) this was sent from the king of Jyo. it was directly sent to you.
Tenebris: Jyo? (he opens the letter.)
Karri: what does it say?
Tenebris: its an invitation to the royal palace.
Sam: an invitation from the king of Jyo himself. not many outsiders are even allowed in Jyo, let alone the royal palace.
Machi: dinners ready.
(it cuts to arthor at training in a clearing lit by lanterns at night. He keeps punching a dummy over and over drenched in sweat. he stops and goes over to the shack and looks at a drawer. )
Arthor: "hugh" out of food... (he gets up and closes the door as he does it cuts to an island and a ship docks and Svangur gets off of it and starts walking. )
I cant believe there's another tempurian. I cant wait to tell Naomi...( he stops and looks terrified) Naomi! (it shows smoke in the distance. he starts running towards the smoke) Naomi. (he runs through a forest of dead trees and plants. until he sees a burned down house. everything around it is burned. he runs in and looks around.) Naomi where are you.
