Sacraments of Alloy
Consumable (Alchemical, Arcane)
Sacraments are alchemically prepared vials containing metallic suspensions consumed by individuals capable of metabolizing them, known as Allomancers. When ingested, the metal is stored internally and may later be burned, converting the metal into a supernatural effect based on its type and refinement.
Sanctioned Forms
Sacraments are produced in two sanctioned forms:
• Lesser Sacraments (Shavings): brief, tightly controlled effects
• Greater Sacraments (Refined): full, potent expressions of the metal
Core Rules of Burning
• An Allomancer may consume multiple sacraments ahead of time, storing their metals internally.
• An Allomancer may have only one sacrament effect active at a time.
• When an Allomancer burns a new sacrament, any currently active sacrament effect immediately ends.
• Effects never overlap, stack, or combine unless explicitly stated.
Consume: stores the metal within the body.
Burn: activates its effect (and may be done at the same time as consumption).
Unless otherwise stated, consuming and/or burning a sacrament requires a Bonus Action.
Unburned Metal and Exhaustion
Metals left unburned within the body are physically and metaphysically taxing.
• If an Allomancer has enough metal in their body to act as a sacrament for more than 1 hour, they gain 1 level of exhaustion as the body becomes afflicted with Allomantic toxicity.
• Each consecutive hour the Allomancer goes without burning or cleansing their sacraments down to zero, called “Zeroing”, causes their exhaustion to double.
• This exhaustion cannot be removed by resting, spells, or abilities.
• The only way to remove this exhaustion is by burning an Aluminum Sacrament.

• Removes 1 level of exhaustion caused by Allomantic toxicity.

This chapter completely drew me in. Clint’s inner conflict is so well done, and the way his past keeps intruding on the present makes every decision feel heavier and more real. The action scenes were tense and easy to follow, but what really stood out was the emotional weight behind them. I loved the Clint–Natasha dynamic the mix of tension, dry humor, and unspoken history felt incredibly authentic. And that final phone text was such a perfect, human touch after all the chaos. when you’re writing Clint, how do you decide which memories resurface during the action and which ones stay buried?
