The sidebar editor in the new article view is always visible. This is really difficult to deal with when I use half my monitor or am working on a small screen. I would like to be able to collapse the sidebar editor when I don't need it, so I have more space to work on the actual article.
It directly addresses he issue.

A minor thing that could greatly help what is currently there. Would be one step in the right direction. Still wish we could go back to old UI, but if we that is not an option to set as default, rapid improvements to the new is what we need.
The main reason I'm still using the old article editor is because the main text box (the only box I usually use for the entire article, so a box the size of 'custom field top' in the homepage editor is really what I want) is so tiny and crowded by a bunch of noise, like the sidebars that I very rarely use. A collapsible sidebar would help me and my small screen size a lot.
This would be great, the new UI is super busy and ends up with a lot of unusable space on the screen, which is awful on smaller screen sizes.
It would be nice to be able to collapse the sidebar when you're working on the main content, and to collapse the main content when you're working on the sidebar. There's not enough room in the sidebar to see more than a few lines at a time, and that feels really claustrophobic if you have a lot of text for those fields.
