I agree with the problem, but i'm not sure about this solution.
I would love to see a visual article come to life. Instead of people who focus on reading, a visual would help simpliy a lot of things.
I'll preface this by saying I have very limited coding skills and new to writing, so it is likely I'm under utilizing the full capabilities of WA/making novice mistakes. As pointed out by others, the mind mapping concept would be a great template. And ditto what Zemandur said. I keep ideas in a paper journal and then flesh out the ideas in WA. When I'm fleshing out concepts I find myself having to create new articles as write. This is mildly distracting for me (look, squirrel!). Some sort of visualization that allowed the user to see where the different threads touch would help me create more intricate threads of connection in my world. As of now I'm only able to use the Navigation feature to nest articles in an hierachical structure. So I can see the main relationship for that article but I can't see 2nd, 3rd or 4th order impacts visually.
Currently WA is functional as a way to record, organize, and access all your lore once you have it fleshed out to some degree in your mind or a different tool (such as pencil and paper, a whiteboard, or some other software such as obsidian). Regardless of what that other tool may be, it can be very tedious to transfer all of that content into WA. When trying to worldbuild only with WA, it can easily lead to a spiral of making new articles with almost no contentand then spending time categorizing them, just to fill in the blanks. Assuming that the intent of WA to be a way to worldbuild from the beginning stages of a world, I think this feature would be a good way to bring it towards that goal. Perhaps the Staging Area category that appears when you use first create a new world could be expanded into a early brainstorming feature, along with a way to categorize and turn things into articles quickly once you've fleshed things out a bit.
If you have a look at Obsidian.md, a program for mind mapping and grouping concepts, I think you'll get a good idea of some of the possibilities. I don't really need this feature, but I just wanted to point out that interesting things like this exist and are a possibility on World Anvil if it isn't too onerous to program.
Actually there is something like that. Member of the community known as Satrium did something like that (https://linksoftheanvil.satrium.dev/auth). You just need to generate an API key. You find a link to it when you click on your profile picture in the upper right corner of the website
