Mental characteristics
Personal history
Narolf was born to Uskalan farmers near the coast. His family was poor and struggling. Narolf dreamed of heroism growing up.
Narolf ran away from home when he was twelve to pursue his dreams and give his family one less mouth to feed. He lied about running away from home and claimed to be an orphan to get adopted by a Hallisan temple.
As a young adult, he was frustrated by how toothless the Guardians were in the land of Uskala, so he left his home temple (without his superiors permission) and traveled northwest into the land of Swynfaredia and didn't find the Guardians much better so he migrated to the land of Fumaya.
Alexandra Frymar's predecessor as the head of the Fumayan Guardians accepted him but not until after getting him to confess to his lies about running away from home and running away from the Uskalan Guardians and doing penance for his deception.
Farolf became a useful warrior for the Fumayan Guardians and to various Guardian enclaves in the Border Baronies Region. He was well accostomed to fighting and surviving in rugged terrain, eventually earning him a promotion to Elder after he transitioned from front line warrior to mentor to front-line warriors.
Sexuality
He had an unlikely and barely sanctioned marriage to a Borderland born Lantern. Like him, she was a competant but non-spell casting warrior. She now is a respected elder in the Fumayan Lanterns.
They only had one child, a daughter, who not too surprisingly joined the Cult of the Compact.
