Healing Scroll

Healing scrolls are a niche cousin of the more popular healing potions that is is cheaper to produce but harder to use.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Assuming a scroll is stored in a dry place, a scroll can keep it's magic intact for more than ten years making it easier to store for long periods of time than healing potions which have a shelf life of about five years under optimal conditions.

Significance

A healing potion can be drank by anyone, but a healing scroll can normally be activated by a theurgist or someone with advanced training in activating magic items.   While a healing scroll is initially created with the power of one of the Nine, once created it becomes a generic magical item that can be activated by any theurgist, even one who is an enemy of the scroll creator.   Effectively, healing potions are for everyone and healing scrolls are for adventuring parties or elite military units that happen to have theurgists in them.
