Mervyn the spirit loa
Mervyn is the oldest of the 23 recently rescued Spirit Loas and is unofficially the "dad" of the loas, especially the clique of spirit loas from Stagdrift Hills County.

He has a few aches and pains from years of working in the mines, but he's pretty healthy and spry all things considered.

He's pretty archtypical for earthiness. Brown skin, black hair, below average height, stocky and well-muscled.

Personal history
Meryvn was not in the closet about being a spirit loa, but he didn't view being a spirit loa has to core to his identity. He saw himself as a husband, father, and miner more than he saw himself as a spirit loa.
At the point of his kidnapping, Meryvn's children are all adults or practically adults.
This changed after he got wrapped up in Lady Raewen ap Selwyth's evil scheme.

Mervyn was not happy about severing ties to his old life, but he was originally willing to do it.
Given the relatively large number of spirit loas specifically from Stagdrift Hills County that want to go home and that they all got a similar oracle message presumably telling them to ask Count Llewellyn ap Selwyth for help shortly after his birthday, Mervyn is now planning to return to his family, but he now views the other Stagdrift loas as a sort of extended family he wants to look after.
