(Health levels for Human characters)
Important Character: OK, OK, OK, -1, -1, -2, -2, -3, -5, Incapacitated
Expendable Character: OK, -1, -1, -3, -5
Natural healing has to heal the bottom health levels first. A character needs to heal their -3 damage before healing their -1 and bruise damage.
Bashing damage is easier to heal than lethal damage. See the charts below.
Recovering from bashing damage
Characters can heal bashing damage with rest. The application of poultices and compresses can reduce healing times at the storyteller’s discretion.
Health level
Bruise to wounded (-2) 1 hour/level
Mauled (-3) 3 hours/level
Crippled (-5) 6 hours
Incapacitated 12 hours
Recovering from lethal or aggravated damage
To heal a health level, the character needs to pass a Stamina roll (with no wound penalty) to heal.
A character with skilled medical assistance gets a difficulty break on his Stamina roll and can reduce the base healing time slightly, see
Treating Wounds Without Magic. for details
Health Level/Healing Time/Stamina Roll difficulty
Bruised 1 day, Stamina difficulty 3
Injured 5 days, Stamina difficulty 4
Wounded 1 month, Stamina difficulty 5
Mauled 3 months, Stamina difficulty 6
Crippled 4 months, Stamina difficulty 7
Incapacitated 5 months, Stamina difficulty 8
