Duke Oles Wiern II

Duke Oles II Wiern

Duke Oles II is the longest serving duke in Fumayan history having acquired his title before he was four and holding the title till he died in bed at age eighty-four. His mother served as regent and remained his most trusted advisor for decades to come.   He married Princess Ewa Linijka in 1536 when he was 19 and she 17. The couple got along famously well. The troubadours literally sang of their love, for their frequent public displays of affection, loud lover's quarrelers, and over the top apologies for these lover's quarrels.  They had three sons and three daughters.   Oles had the right to remarry after Ewa's death, but he chose not to.  He joked about being too old to be able to handle a new bride, but most assumed he was too deeply in love with Ewa to even consider replacing her.
