Pretty much every leading figure in House Selwyth wants Countess Colwyn ap Selwyth to step down as Matriarch of House Selwyth, but no one is super eager to step into the role because this is like giving the Titanic a new captain after they already hit the iceberg, so there aren't a lot of Selwyths champing at the bit to fill her spot.
The "winner" of this power vaccuum is Lord Trefpr. A non-offensive old man who is not senile or broken but very much past his prime and low energy. The assumption is that his tenure as Patriarch of House Selwyth is going to be marked by giving the Selwyth lords and ladies a lot of autonomy to figure out their own affairs as they see fit.
Among other consequences of his appointment, Count Llewellyn ap Selwyth will probably get to arrange a marriage for himself without anyone but his father having a say in the process.
