Proper Scarterran Wedding Attire doesn't resemble modern Earth wedding attire
This is part of my "Thinking Medieval" series
Scarterra has many mortal races and each race has many nations and tribes. They all have different wedding traditions, but a few wedding traditions are near universal in civilized lands. Nomadic barbarians are another story.
Whether wealthy or poor, brides and grooms will wear the best clothes they can afford to their own weddings. But they won't wear wedding clothes, they will wear formal clothes. They are probably going to wear their same wedding outfits when they are guests at other people's weddings. They are also going to wear these outfits at baptisms, formal court appearances, and formal religious holidays to the Nine.
The point is, Scarterrans don't make outfits that only outfits that only are worn once.
The bride and groom seldom complain, because high status guests normally bring a nice present. When attending the wedding of a lower status person (or an honored peer), it is considered a faux passe not to bring a nice present.
For most peasant weddings, specific colors are not that important, but a peasant's best clothes are usually brightly colored clothes. This means a peasant wedding reception can look like a drunken rainbow.
If a wedding represents a political alliance bringing two houses together, both the bride and groom are going to wear outfits that showcase their family colors and their family crest in a very loud and obvious fashion. The same will apply to the wedding guests who are also wearing their political affiliation on their sleeves, literally.
Among dwarves, even peasant weddings have a vaguely political air to them. Even relatively poor dwarves take their clan affiliation very seriously, so any dwarf wedding is a formal alliance between two clans and the guests are likely to be wearing carefully coordinated clan colors.
All four major dwarf subcultures follow this norm in some fashion. This is unique to dwarves, among humans, elves, tengku, gnomes, and pretty much everyone else, only highborn couples and guests worry about color coordinating in this fashion.
"Wedding dresses" are not common in Scarterra
Waste is Taboo on Scarterra. Every possible material made into a garment comes from an animal or plant, generally in a labor intensive fashion. Every garment has to be sewn and tailored by hand. Every colored garment must be dyed by hand. That means that it is extremely wasteful and indulgent to make a dress or suit intended to be worn at only a single event. Even if it's a wedding. Even if the bride and groom are from very wealthy families.

Brides don't normally wear white at their weddings
The idea that white dress represents a virgin bride is a fairly modern concept on Earth. It was not a medieval concept, and it is not a Scarterra. White clothes does not represent virginity or purity or anything like that. White clothes in Scarterra represent wealth. Wearing white clothes is a status flex, whether they are worn at a wedding or on any other occasion. White clothes require fairly rare and expensive materials. More importantly, white clothes are hard to keep clean, so white garments don't last as long as non-white garments. Ergo, white clothes are effectively more expensively because most clothing is made to last. All clothing in Scarterra has to be washed by hands. And the tools and materials used to aid in washing clothes are not on par with modern soaps and detergents, certainly not on par with modern washing machines and dry cleaning. Magic can help with cleaning, especially Purification theurgy. You need to be rich to afford magical cleaning, or you need to be part of a holy order with lots of Purificationists in it. Even then, a Purificationist can only use his/her magic so many times in one day and mana to expended to clean clothes is mana that is not expended to cure diseases or create clean drinking water. If someone is wearing white at a wedding, more often than not, the person wearing white is the priest or priestess officiating the ceremony. In the rare occasions where the bride is wearing white, it's not representing purity. It means the bride's family is flexing their wealth.Peacocking is common
In modern weddings, it generally considered poor taste for a wedding guest to outshine the bride and groom. This is not normally the case at a Scarterran wedding. It is customary for wedding guests to wear the fanciest clothes they have available to them. This means that if a relatively high status person is attending the wedding of a relatively lower status person, than that guest will probably have fancier clothes than the bride and groom. If you are a duke or duchess, and your son or daughter is getting married, it is expected that you will invite the royal family to the wedding. If you are a count or countess, and your son or daughter is getting married, it is expected that you will invite the ducal family to the wedding. And so on and so forth all the way down the line. Barons and Baronesses are a lot closer to their peasants than other lords, so they are commonly invited to attend the weddings of peasants in their domains.
That means it is very common to have high status wedding guests that are dressing fancier than the bride and groom.

Any gift is permissible, but it is traditional for wedding gifts to be honey based. Mead is a common gift. Sometimes it's honey cakes or just a jar of honey. This is origin of "the honeymoon" because the new couple enjoys a lot of honey which is said to help conceive a healthy child and/or provide health and prosperity to the couple for years to come. For some peasants, their honeymoon is the only time in their lives that they get to enjoy sweets.
Components and tools
The bride and groom are wearing nice clothes, but they aren't wedding dresses or wedding suits. This doesn't mean they don't have some wedding attire.
In the context of a wedding, Zarthus represents community. Phidas represents prosperity. Hallisan represents industriousness. Khemra and Korus both represent peace. Nami and Greymoria both represent good luck. Maylar represents strength.
Greymoria, Maylar, and Nami are invoked as much to avoid their ire as they are invoked to obtain a blessing.
There are other ways to honor the Nine without the bride and groom wearing special accessories, so just because neither the bride and groom aren't wearing a Greymoria accessory doesn't necessarily mean they are shunning Greymoria. They can appease Greymoria with a sacrificial goat or a song or a special incense or a decorative illusion or a wide number of things.
The same thing applies to the rest of the Nine. There is more than one correct way to honor a god or goddess at a wedding. But which priest or priestess is officiating the wedding will tell you a lot about the bride and groom's divine priorities.
A lot of Scarterrans utilize wedding rings in some fashion, but many Scarterrans don't. Rings can symbolize many things in Scarterra. They can signify rank and status. They can showcase wealth. They verify an identity in the case of a signet ring. Rings are a popular item to enchant with magic. Rings can hide poison.
If a Scarterran couple does utilize wedding rings, the etiquette for doing so is varied. Maybe both spouses wear rings or maybe only the bride or only the groom wears a ring. They might wear the rings for a set period of time or they might wear their ring for It is not guaranteed that they will wear rings on a specific finger or a specific hand.
Different cultures use different wedding attire but most cultures have some form of traditional wedding attire and this attire usually takes the form of accessories. Hairpins, necklaces, veils, stylistic combs, sashes, bracelets, hats, and the like are all often used. So even if the bride and groom aren't wearing the fanciest clothes, they are usually easy to spot.
Most of the time, the same accessory is used by several couples over several weddings. It is considered good luck to borrow accessories from multiple friends and family members. Sometimes, a feudal superior will loan an accessory to a vassal or subject.

A lot of accessories are symbolically tied to one of the Nine. Some especially pious (or paranoid) couples end up wearing nine accessories, so they can cover all their bases. More often, the bride and groom will wear accessories for their favorite god or goddess, plus Mera who is the goddess of families and is almost an auto-include for all Scarterran weddings, normally achieved with something Blue.
Participants
At large formal wedding. All the guests will wear their finest clothes.
A lot of Scarterran weddings are small and fairly casual. In these cases, the bride and groom are probably going to be wearing fine clothes but a lot of the guests are going to be wearing everyday clothes, though at least clean clothes.
