The Successor

rEons ago, Turoch farmed the world for souls, but the Demon Lords spawned from his essence simply seemed to want eradicate all sentient life. The Successor seemed to be planning long-term attempting to capture settlements intact and turn them into giant prison camps with forced breeding for a sustained harvest of souls. In this way the Demon Lord was branded as Turoch's attempted successor.   Because the Successor tried to consolidate holdings rather than just destroy things and move on, the Successor’s enemies had time to mobilize. Massive goblin-led prisoner revolts ultimately gave outside armies the opening they needed to destroy the Successor.   Modern goblins claim one of their heroes called simply "the Great One" actually slew the Successor, but few non-goblins take this claim seriously especially nearly every goblin on Scarterra claims "the Great One" as their direct ancestor.   Even though most of the former prisons of the Successor are demolished of the sites are cursed haunted places where the broken stones are said to cry out in pain and fear on some nights. The Screaming Fields are the best known of these locations but it is far from the only location psychically tainted by the Successor's attrocities.   Like the Corruptor, the Successor is responsible for some of the less commonly seen Void tainted creatures though none of the Successor's legacies were as successful as the Corruptor's lycanthropes.   Unfortunately, while the knoweldge of the strengths and weakness of the lycanthropes is fairly wide spread, most of the Successor's legacy monsters are less well known so they are harder to counter.
