#22: Starfreckle

Invented by: Solebarr Syntaritov
Type: Entertainment
Complexity: Medium-high (C5)
We use it for: giving people star freckles

Appearance: vivid, translucent green with scattered starlight grains that typically glow blue or purple. Viscosity of water. Color of the liquid will change depending on temperature; when served chilled, the liquid will change to an exceptionally clear ruby hue.

Taste: sweet strawberry kiwi, very faint fizz on the tongue. Starlight grains provide a pleasant crunch and a burst of flavor when bitten.

Effect: produces a rush of energy, liveliness, exuberance, or exhilaration in the consumant. Physical effect produces starlight freckles on the consumant's cheeks, with the effect spreading to the shoulders, arms, and torso depending on the amount consumed. Starlight color will vary depending on the individual, and customized brews can produce a rippling or cycling rainbow starlight effect.

Notes

  • Made this one for Songbird and Kiwi. They gave me no end of entertainment, and set the stage for countless other stories, so this is my way of telling them thank you. -Solebarr
  • Should probably add a warning that the starfreckling effect can be permanent on the rare occasion. It happened to someone I knew; luckily she didn't seem to mind it all that much, but not everyone may be thrilled to spend the rest of their life as a walking constellation. -Mistofelees
