While Peter was listening near the corridor, Hoodie was busy glancing over the controls searching for options. He spied the read out for the other ship. He studied the information and realized that the craft was a heavily reinforced yacht. It was highly maneuverable but some of the modifications created structural weak point alongside its hull. Hugh Dan looked at where the docked ships were joined. He speculated that if he vented to an external hatch it could do some damage.
A blast of a weapon erupted from the mess hall. Hoodie approached Peter. He could hear some voices but nothing distinct. He settled down beside the younger boy to listen more closely.
"They've got Red!" Peter clamped onto the navigator.
"What? How?"
Peter shook his head, they both listened intently. The conversation did seem to include Red now.
"Alright, I won't hurt your precious boy." They heard Belisa state openly. "I will tie him up to keep him from hurting himself. I'll ask you to invite your other cockpit companions to join us so I can eliminate a few more variables while we're at it."
There was a short moment of silence followed by Red's shrill panic. "No, please!"
"Peter. Hugh. Come out here. No tricks!" The captain's voice was strained.
The boys looked at each other stunned.
"My dears, you do not want to keep us waiting." Belisa's voice went from eerily sing songy to dead flat by that last word.
Hugh shivered and urged Peter to start down towards them. "Steady."
They walked nervously down the corridor and at its end they saw a couple of weapons pointed in their direction. The woman had a dagger to Red's throat and blood was dripping from its point. Red was tearing up and shaking. She nodded in their direction briefly.
"Restrain them." The order was carried out swiftly and they were shoved towards Red and forced to their knees as well.
Belisa moved to a different spot and barked an order into her comm. The response noticeably displeased her.
"Well, well. It seems that some of your crew have disabled some of my party. No matter, the moment their vitals drop the reinforcements come into play. That's most unfortunate, Captain.”
