Gregor: Less then a day left. Although I heard at the tavern that the Southern gate has been very busy recently. Due to the Dead star pirates patrolling the Northern gate, no one has been allowed entrance there. why you would go where pirates can steal your stuff I don't know but they recently closed the gate. So it's a good thing we didn't try to risk going the northern route.
Karri: I guess so. I hope tenebris is doing okay, im sure arthor is taking care of him.
Gregor: Tenebris this, Tenebris that, cheer up a little, if you keep worrying about him, that will only make things worse. It's said that joy has the greatest healing potential out of all the emotions.
Karri: Oh yeah, Tenebris was talking about that, he told us different emotions have different strengths when using orku. I still don't understand any of it.
Gregor: Don't worry about it kid, most people don't learn how to use Orku until their in their 20's, if they learn how to use it at all.
Karri: how did you learn?
Gregor: Uh..well..i..um...A person I traveled with for quite a while taught me how to use it, but I wouldn't say I'm very good at it.
Karri: can you teach me!?
Gregor: I'll let Tenebris do that when he's better. He seems more adept with orku then I could ever be.
Karri: but you still understand how to use it don't you?
Gregor: I do...
Karri: well that's more than what I know! so teach me.
Gregor: I don't know kid, It's dangerous stuff for a youngin like you to learn about. Plus Techniques and abilities rely on the users race.
Karri: what do you mean by race?
Gregor: you really don't know any of this stuff. did your parents teach you anything?
Karri: no....(sad)
Gregor: Oh...yeah...right, sorry.
Karri: its alright.
Gregor: well then I'll teach ya something I know quite a bit about. being a renowned trader, I've worked with all kinds of people. (karri sits on the deck next to the wheel and stares up at gregor with his eyes full of wonder)
Gregor: First, there are the Riddara, that's the most common race. any mixes of two or more races is considered Riddara, I myself am Riddara, though I could not tell you what im a mix of. So don't ask (karri puts his hand down), anyway the next Race is dyriads.
Karri: I know that one, tenebris told us their old and are apart of tribes.
Gregor: well most of them do belong to the tribes but their are still quite a few around the world outside of them. They usually have some kind of animal or something they have with them. why they have that I don't know so don't ask. (karri puts his hand down again). then theirs Gefanda, I've only met 2 people in all my travels that were Gefanda. What makes them special...I don't know. Don't (points at karri whose in the action of putting his hand up)
Karri: I wasn't going to...
Gregor: mhmm....and the last race is Ekkert, now i know your going to ask and i do know what makes them different?
Karri: I actually wasn't going to ask.
Gregor: Anyone that is unable to use or has very little Orku would fall into this race, so you would most likely be considered Ekkert, but your young so that could change.
Karri: hmm, so how do you know what race you are?
Gregor: I mean, I don't know if their really is a way to know for sure. Usually it is whatever your parent were, and since you don't know your parents then I couldn't tell ya.
Karri: so i wouldn't be able to learn how to use orku then?
Gregor: honestly I have no idea.
Karri: (sad) well I guess learning that is good at least.
Gregor: (notices karri) Having no power isn't all that bad, in fact I would say its a blessing.
Karri: how?
Gregor: If you had lots of Orku and you were super strong, people would notice. some of those people who notice would do anything to have that kind of power. Some are forced into the military, others are put to work in factories, or other dangerous jobs. not even mentioning the terrible things that could happen to people with Orku. so count yourself lucky kid, your free from responsibility and danger.
Karri: but, If I'm the one with power that means others don't have to be. I rather be the one protecting others from all the things you just said, than to sit back, not being able to do anything to help.
Gregor: then your braver than most, and that alone is greater than any amount of power.
(the boat creaks)
Gregor: (senses something and looks around but doesn't find anything)
Karri: are you okay?
Gregor: yeah...must have been the wind.
(they pull up to shore right after the Brennandi passage.)
Karri: where are you going?
Gregor: nature calls, I'll be back in a few, don't go anywhere! (he gets off the ship and leaves into the forest)
Karri: hmm (he looks around and its dead silent) (he puts his hand on his dagger but remembers its a key blade.)
Bird: CAWH (flies away)
Karri: "Hough" its just a bird. (a masked man appears behind him and grabs him)
Karri: Agh! (struggles against the man and brakes free) who are you!
Masked man: (no response, he just runs and attacks karri who doges a few times but runs into a masked woman that appeared as well)
Karri: Gregor! (karri gets punched and blacks out)
(Gregor comes back after a bit and sees the masked people carrying karri off)
Gregor: Karri! (a shadowed figure with long hair steps halfway out of the forest)( the figures disappear with karri) (looks at the shadowy figure)
CHAPTER 26 THE DAY PRIOR
(the chapter opens with Tenebris, Gregor and Arthor in a medical room with gregor getting patched up )
Arthor: You just left him on the ship by himself!
Gregor: it wasn't even 3 minutes how was I supposed to know that the dead star pirates were waiting there?
Tenebris: how did you make it out?
Gregor: I don't know I got knocked out before I could see any of their faces.
Tenebris: they did seem to know you back on the ship, maybe they let you live because you've done work with them.
Gregor: I don't know, all I remember when I came to was...I was facedown on the ground and my arm was bleeding, it looked to be about 2 hours later, I got to the southern gate and some legionaries saw my injures and got me to the hospital. but wait...how are you two here? your supposed to be back at...wherever you went after Longra milli.
Tenebris: After you left Longra milli, we took the northern route to catch up to you guys here.
Arthor: Karri left without telling us, he was upset when I told him it was dangerous to leave the island. but now he knows why we told him to stay! (his eyes flash red)
Tenebris: If the dead star pirates took him, we're going to need some help to get him back, I've gotten some of my power back but i still don't know if its enough, or if using it is a good idea.
Arthor: (eyes light up green) your not saying what I think you are right?
Tenebris: We need to tell the legions about this, there's no way that we could take on the Dead star pirates by ourselves.
Arthor: no way
Tenebris: Arthor, It's our best chance at getting karri back.
Arthor: No, we cant waste any time trying to get those people to help. we need to get going now.
Tenebris: Even if we did somehow catch up to the people that took him, what are we going to do? The last time we faced them, we barely made it out alive. they're too strong for us to handle.
Arthor: You really think "they" give a damn what happens to karri, or to you or me? It's a waste of time, which is a resource we don't have much of as it is.
Tenebris: and im telling you that time is nothing without the power to do anything with it. we need the legions help end of discussion. I know you don't like them
Arthor: (eyes glowing red) that's an understatement...
Tenebris: But it's not you choice. (his eyes glow light blue) I made a promise to protect you two, and im not going to brake that promise.
(they walk out of the hospital room and sol and a younger pink haired girl with legionary armor is talking, they look over at tenebris)
Tenebris: Sorry to keep you waiting
Sol: Thats ah..alright, dont problem about it.
Tenebris, Arthor and gregor: ?
Sol: (speaks really fast) AHH I mean no problem, don't worry about it. I just said them at the same time, but what I meant to say was them individually...
Pink haired girl: Nice one.
Sol: (defeated)
Tenebris: anyway, we need to talk.
Sol: is it about the trader ship you mentioned because I got a report that the ship did come in but the boy was not there.
Tenebris: yes, we have reason to believe the dead star pirates took him.
Sol: the dead star pirates?
Pink haired girl: why would they do that? they're thieves and murderers but not kidnappers. is this boy royalty or something?
Arthor: no
Sol: would he provide any kind of leverage as a hostage?
Tenebris: No Arthor: yes
Tenebris: no, during the altercation we talked about earlier, karri stabbed their captain in the shoulder.
Pink haired girl: Riiiiight, did he fly too? or maybe he was an immortal knight?
Arthor: At least he's a better legionary than you! he actually did something to help, unlike you two who let the pirates do whatever they want!
Pink haired girl: what did you say!? (eyes glow red)
Arthor: you heard me (eyes glow red)
Tenebris: Arthor! Sol: Magi!
Arthor and magi: (point) they started it!
Sol: "Hough" he is right though...we haven't been able to pin down those pirates, we've been spread too thin. Our immortal knight and lowest ranked Royal were sent to trinity to discuss the situation in Egran, that leaves our highest ranked Royal to defend the capital. they stationed me and another royal knight at each gate, which leaves the final legion to protect the rest of the kingdom. we haven't had the forces to go after the pirates.
Tenebris: what if you did?
Sol: what are you suggesting?
Tenebris: We have something that will draw them out and a perfect place to set a trap. all we need is a small squadron of high ranking legionaries to take care of the dead star pirates for good.
Magi: What makes you think they'll fall for something like that? you said it yourself your not royalty or anyone important what could you have that they want more then that?
Tenebris:(holds up his bandaged arm) the dark energy that is attached to my arm.
Sol: what?
Magi: why would they want that?
Tenebris: I'm not sure, they seem to believe it would give them enough power to take over the underground. during our last fight, their captain said that the Kongur possess a power similar to this.
Sol: the Kongur? Are you sure that's what he said?
Tenebris: 100%
Sol: (thinking for a moment before saying) what do you need?
Magi: you believe this guy? there talking crazy and making up words.
Sol: I have my reasons to believe him, even if it is a small chance to get rid of the dead stars, it's the only one we have.
Tenebris: (smiles at Arthor who is excited but doesn't want to show it) we're going to need your help.
Sol: I believe I could get permission to do this, im sure the king would want the deadstar pirates gone from his kingdom. where is this perfect place for a trap?
Tenebris: Barrok.
CHAPTER 27 THE RESCUE PLAN
(the chapter opens with Tenebris with arthor on the royal legionaries ship at night)
(sol walks over)
Sol: so why barrok? what so special about that village?
Tenebris: after my first run in with the pirates I ended up in barrok, the mayor filled me in on its history with the pirates. the village is small enough to not be noticed by the royals but has tracks running through it and a port. its the perfect location for pirates to get supplies.
Sol: That makes sense, we've heard several reports about the pirates being there. but lost contact with them a early last year. wait first run in? you had multiple?
Tenebris: the first run in was with one of the captains. a kid with orange hair and lion tattoos.
Sol: Leo. that matches the descriptions we have of one of their captains. what about the other times?
Tenebris: the second time, there was a large muscular man with a huge belt, a woman with grey hair and flower tattoos, a man with an eye patch and red hair, and their captain had long black hair and a goatee.
Sol: (Shocked) that matches the descriptions we have for all of their captains. Even Corvis. how did you escape?
Tenebris: Lucky I guess...luck and karri saving me.
Sol: this karri you keep talking about, how old is he?
Arthor: why do you want to know?
Sol: if this kid is as young as you and he could injure Corvis then he has the potential to be a major threat if he fell into the wrong hands.
Arthor: He's my brother! not some mega weapon, is that all you legionaries think about is taking anyone with power and brainwashing them!?
Magi: You cant talk like that to my sister!
Arthor: Oh yeah, try and stop me! (both of their eyes glow again)
Tenebris: Stop! both of you, the pirates are the ones we're fighting. karri got a surprise attack on corvis while facing me, he's not legionary material.
Arthor: yeah, he's way better. (tenebris smacks arthor upside the dome) ow!
Magi: Ha Ha! (Sol smacks her upside the head too) ow!
Sol: Even if your right and they show up at barrok, not all of the captains will be there. how are we going to take care of the other ones.
Tenebris: I know people like Corvis. they wont give up an opportunity for power, no matter the risk. If I got away from all of them before, I know he'll make sure that wont happen this time. he'll send everything at us.
Sol: I hope your right about this. what exactly is your plan if all the captains show up?
Tenebris: when.
Sol: ...when the captains show up, what's the plan?
Tenebris: I will draw them out onto the mainland, once all of them are in the town square we'll take them down.
Magi: so you guys want us to do all the heavy lifting, your just the damsel in distress?
Tenebris: No, this is my fight too.
Sol: but you barely have any orku, there's no way you would be able to fight any of those pirates. I'm not even sure how you were able to escape them twice before.
Tenebris: don't worry about us I can handle myself. (eyes and rings glow)
Sol: thats hot..AHH I mean..uh..Hotheaded is what I meant! not what your thinking! (fake yawn) im gonna go to bed bye! (runs off)
Tenebris: ? (silence for a second)
Magi: I don't know what my sister sees in you.
Tenebris: ? (shrugs)
(cut to the dead star pirates tavern)
(a pirate is talking to Cepheus in Corvis Room where he is looking out window the next morning, Cepheus nods and the pirate leaves)
Cepheus: (walks over) A Royal Legionary ship has been spotted at Barrok
Corvis: pay it no mind, they are not worth engaging now.
Cepheus: Sir a ship in the eastern sector has not reported in 4 days and an abandoned ship has been spotted in the same location as the last know coordinates of the missing ship.
Corvis: so a few pirates got taken by a trapped ship, this is nothing new.
Cepheus: the ship had residual anda energy.
Corvis: (eyes widen) he's back, and he's bringing the Legions. gather the captains.
Cepheus: For what?
Corvis: We are going to meet him there.
Cepheus: sir this guys dangerous and he's bringing the Royals into this, we cant...
Corvis: It's nothing I cant handle.
Cepheus: your not healed theirs no way...
Corvis: It's nothing I cant handle! now get the captains together.
Cepheus: (angrily)....yes sir. (walks off)
Corvis: (He tightens his bandages on his shoulder and grits his teeth.) I wont let you escape this time, even if you are bringing a Royal. (he goes to step out of his room and it cuts to him stepping on his ship with the rest of the pirate captains)
CHAPTER 28 BACK TO BARROK
(Blackheart standing on the dock as the royal ship docks)
Blackheart: its about time you sent someone with a little bit of power down our way.
Sol: (walks off the ship with magi and greets Blackheart)
Blackheart: what leads ya to barrok now?
Sol: we got a tip from someone you may know, that the dead stars will be coming here.
Blackheart: The dead stars eh, well I don't know who this tip is from, but I haven't seen a single black flag around here in almost 2 months. but now that your here, I suppose we'll see quite a few. whose this anonymous tip giver your talking about? (eyes widen as she sees tenebris and arthor walk off the ship)
Blackheart: (goes over and hugs arthor) Your back.
Tenebris: we're back. (she hugs him and he reluctantly hugs her back)
Blackheart: where's karri?
Arthor: (looks sad)
Tenebris: that's what were here for.
Blackheart: no...(she starts tearing up)
Tenebris: He's alive, but he was taken by the dead stars. we're trying to get him back.
Blackheart: Im so sorry. If I didn't force you to take them, this never would have...
Tenebris: No he was my responsibility. I let you down. but we will get him back.
Blackheart: (wipes her tears) then what do you need from me?
Sol: we need whoever is left in the village to evacuate. this place is going to become very dangerous when the pirates come here.
Blackheart: I'll send out the word.
Sol: thank you.
Tenebris: lets go over the plan one more time.
(they all huddle up and it shows a stick man sketch of all of them)
Tenebris: when the dead stars show up we need to get them to the mainland.
Sol: I can hide our ship and surprise them.
Tenebris: what do you mean hide?
Sol: (eyes light up and she disappears)
Tenebris: wow, ok yeah that should work.
Sol: (reappears)
Tenebris: can you do that with a whole ship?
Sol: I should be able to.
Tenebris: alright, once their on land, we cant split them up. if they get split up they will be free to use their full power. we need them close together. The last time I faced Corvis, he had some kind of terrain already set up when I followed him to his ship. It seems like his gift has something to do with gravity. we cannot let him set up his terrain.
Sol: The first target is the commander, he is the most dangerous, besides Corvis. once we take down the rest of the captains only corvis will be left, then we will take him on.
Magi: do you really think we can beat him?
Sol: (crushed) you don't believe in me?
Magi: no no no, I didn't mean it like that, im sure your strong enough but its just that he killed a royal knight before, and I don't want that to sound pessimistic but...
Tenebris: I believe you can do it.
Sol: (thinking) AHHH he believes in me! I cant let him down!
Tenebris: even if you don't beat him, he will be tired and we can come in and finish him off.
Sol: (thinking, Crushed again) WhAAA, he doesnt believe in me either...
Arthor: what am I going to do?
Tenebris: your going to stay with blackheart and the other villagers
Arthor: No! They took my brother this is my fight!
Tenebris: listen if somehow they get through us on the frontlines and go for the villagers they'll need someone strong to defend them.
Arthor: I'm not stupid I know your just trying to get rid of me.
Tenebris: Arthor, this is dangerous..
Arthor: ..and when we fought those other pirates that wasn't dangerous!?
Tenebris: that's different, these guys are on another level.
Arthor: I don't care what level their on. I need to make them pay.
Tenebris: That's exactly why your going to stay with Blackheart. I don't want you doing anything reckless.
Arthor: (Angrily walks away)
Tenebris: (notices arthor angrily walking off)
Sol: I still don't know if you should be on the front lines?
Tenebris: why not?
Sol: no offence but...
Magi: you don't have orku.
Tenebris: trust me I am strong enough even without much orku.
Sol: I don't know, you should leave this to us.
Tenebris: that's not happening, Corvis wants me, this is my fight.
Sol: . . . alright, but if I tell you to get out of there, I want you to get out of there. . .ok?
Tenebris: If that's what it takes to take them down, that's fine by me. alright, lets get this thing started.
(cut to tenebris sitting on the dock, looking at his bandaged arm while he waits)
(cut to Arthor and Blackheart)
Blackheart: fill me in on what's happened?
Arthor: Karri was taken by the dead star pirates
Blackheart: yes, I know that but how?
Arthor: its quite a long story...
Blackheart: I've got time.
Arthor: well...after we left, we ran into the captains of the dead star pirates, I assume they were on their way to barrok, but ended up crossing paths with gregor.
Blackheart: Gregor? I haven't seen him in a long time he's not hurt is he?
Arthor: Gregor no...well not from that fight.
Blackheart: that fight!? how many fights did you get into!?
Arthor: only a few.
Blackheart: A few!? and now your bringing the dead star pirates to my town?
Arthor: it's to get karri back, and stop them once and for all.
Blackheart: wait im confused karri was taken by them 3 weeks ago and your just coming here now?
Arthor: no, karri was taken recently, when was traveling with gregor to Renna and was taken.
Blackheart: why was he going to Renna?
Arthor: He believed something was wrong with tenebris and took off to find help even though we told him it was dangerous.
Blackheart: that kid, never met anyone like him.
Arthor: me either.
(cut back to tenebris sitting on the dock later in the day) (senses something and looks up as a cannon ball comes hurling in and destroys the dock as tenebris jumps out of the smoke)
Tenebris: Get ready! (he looks out to see multiple dead star ships. they start shooting into the village and hit the surrounding buildings as they get closer, tenebris eyes and rings light up light blue, sol's eyes are glowing pink, magi's eyes light up yellow, and Corvis eyes light up red. )
CHAPTER 29 THE TRAP IS SET
(the chapter opens with a shot of the dead star ships firing on Barrok. )
Corvis: This is definitely a trap, he wants us to go ashore, he probably has legionaries placed in those buildings. then we'll bomb him until there's nowhere left to hide.
Cepheus: (puts his hand up and points right at tenebris) (all the ships continue their bombardment. )
Corvis: (thinking) where are they? (closes his eyes and tries to sense where they are when he looks up franticly) there on top of us! (he looks to the left) (and the ship uncloaks and sol is standing with pink energy swirling around her, the legionary ship starts firing on the closest ship)
Orion: what the aGHH! (as his ship gets hit several times and it throws him and Leo of balance)
Cepheus: where did they come from!?
Corvis: doesn't matter, switch all targets to the Legionary ship! this was their ace in the hole. I see now, you want to stop us before we get to the mainland. Change of plans we're going straight for barrok!
(Cepheus puts his hand up and makes a sign and all of the other ships start sailing to the dock)(the ships turn around and engage the legionary ship, one of the 4 ships already sinking)
Legionary 1: their going to the mainland
Sol: its working! keep firing!
Orion: we got to get out of here, our ships done for!
Leo: how are we going to do that big man? (grabs Leo and picks him up)
Leo: woah woah woah put me do bro!
Orion: see ya on the other side (his eyes and belt light up yellow and he chucks Leo super far almost onto land as he splashes into the water)
Leo: (pops above water) what the hell was that!?
Orion: Cannonball! (Leo looks up and sees Orion flying directly at him as he starts swimming Orion crashes with a massive splash)
Cepheus: (watches Orion and Leo swim to shore) 2 have made it to shore sir with their crew following them.
Corvis: prep the shoreliners.
Cepheus: sir we fell into their trap and we've already lost a ship and a lot of manpower we should retreat...
Corvis: if we get that dark energy, we will have more power than any amount of ships or men we could ever have! prep the shoreliners now!
(all the pirate ships launch smaller boats and head for shore as another boat gets destroyed)
Sol: their going to shore I hope their ready. take us in after them!
Tenebris: (sends up a burst of light blue energy)
magi: that's the signal lets go! (a bunch of legionaries run out from inside of the town hall and start fighting the pirates who were coming ashore)
Magi: (looks around and sees Orion and Leo taking out legionaries like nothing) Perfect (as her eyes light up yellow and she runs to attack him)
Tenebris: lets get karri back (all 4 of his spirits form and his eyes blaze light blue as he runs to intercept corvis ship) (he runs and his spirts take all of the pirates in the way out as he jumps out to take him on and corvis jumps at him as his eyes glow red and they collide sending a shockwave)
Magi: (clashing with Orion, sees tenebris and his spirits) what the heck is that!?
Leo: pay attention to your fight Ponytails! (kicks her but she blocks with her axes and she gets sent back)
(a third pirate ship sinks and the legionary ship is close to shore)
Sol: take out that last ship we don't want them to get away!
Legionary 1: yes captain.
Sol: (eyes light up and pink energy sparks under her feet and she jumps off the ship to shore. She lands right next to Vela and other pirates)
Vela: those two get to fight the small one and I get the royal.
Sol: sorry to disappoint you, but i have to deal with you quickly and move on to your boss.
Vela: defeat me quickly ha we'll see about that! (eyes and tattoos glow green and sol's glow pink)
(Tenebris and Corvis fall onto the water that starts glowing their respective colors beneath their feet as they walk on the water.)
Corvis: I know you wanted us gone, but bringing a royal knight, now I know the Kongur's desperate. (as he pulls out his sword and flintlock)
Tenebris: I told you before im not apart of the Kongur.
Cepheus: (aims his gun at tenebris from the boat)
Corvis: We need him alive, don't aim for the vitals.
Cepheus: of course. (eye flashes red and a bullet flies from his ornate gun)
Tenebris: (disappears and reappears net to corvis and goes to punch him as corvis swipes next to him almost catching tenebris but he disappears again. )
Corvis: just because its fast doesn't mean it's not predictable. (aims his gun at a empty spot and shoots, Tenebris appears and the bullet completely misses him)
Corvis: Damn.
Tenebris: that was almost close.
Corvis: do you think I don't know what your doing?
Tenebris: fighting?
Corvis: you are keeping me from the mainland so I cant activate my terrain.
Tenebris: that's part of it.
Corvis: well unfortunately for you my friend, I don't need my terrain to take down someone like you. even if you have grown stronger.
Tenebris: We'll see about that.
Corvis: (his necklace starts glowing and his energy spikes as the waves beneath him start getting violent)
Vela: (Sol shines a bright light that blinds vela and disappears and uncloaks next to her and kicks her sending her flying as she hits the ground and wipes the blood from her mouth. she feels Corvis releasing his seal, sol looks over too.)
Orion: (Magi slams both of her axes into Orion who blocks it with his arm) Wow that one almost stung a little. (grabs her leg and slams her into the ground)
Magi: aghh (she flips up and back as she does Leo comes in and starts punching relentlessly with his eyes and tattoos glowing. she blocks most of them with her axes and slashes back with a burst of energy) heh heh heh, is that..the best you got, cuse im just getting warmed up (her eyes start blazing yellow and her energy starts to turn into fire)
Leo: Ha! not even close.
(Leo and Orion notice the captains releasing his seal)
Orion: Oh you guys are so screwed now. (grinning)
(Cepheus is unstable in the boat because of the waves that Corvis is generating)
Corvis: (his energy radiates red and yellow off of him and he is floating above the waves and the ends of his hair are now energy) I hope you can respect...the Gravity of the situation. hehahaha HAHAHA!
