(The Chapter opens with the crimson moon at midnight. Arthor asleep in his bed in his quarters with karri and johsef laying in a bed opposite Arthor. Arthor twitches. it flashes to a first person view of Raxis attacking, it cuts back to arthor in bed, then to Raxis stabbing the blade in your shoulder. he looks down and sees the blood rush from the wound, then it cuts to arthor rolling over in his bed, then back to Arthors view of Raxis standing above Tenebris, karri screaming. then it fades in and out of consciousness and the last thing he sees is Raxis side eyeing him with a pitch black eye. it cuts back to arthor waking up suddenly in his bed. he sits up sweating and taking short breaths as he puts his hand on his shoulder where a massive scar mark is. he catches his breath and lays back down and looks at his bracelet then karri who has his back to him. he gets up with a shot of his faded crossed out Kongur tattoo and grabs a shirt and puts it on, then grabs his violencia and walks out of the room. Arthor closes the door silently but Johsef wakes up and sees him walking out, Johsef gets up and chirps at karri who doesn't open his eyes)
Karri: go back to bed johsef its not morning. ( Johsef chirps again and karri rolls over and sees Arthors gone and looks back at johsef who is pointing at the door. )
( it cuts to arthor holding his violencia )
Arthor: (takes a deep breath as his eyes and the strings start glowing blue. he starts to play. The music starts slow, long notes with very quite tones. it flashes to karris face with tears as he screams then back to arthor, he pauses for a second and then starts playing more high pitched notes that echo across the water. his face looks sad as he plays then he speeds up as more energy radiates, it turns from blue to a violent red and he speeds up a lot he looks almost angry as he speeds up. )
Karri: Arthor? ( arthor opens his eyes and spins around and holds the blade of his bow out towards karri. ) Woah watch where you point that!
Arthor: (out of breath, his eyes stop glowing as he puts his bow and violencia away and sits down) ...sorry.
Karri: what are you doing?
Arthor: (turns away from karri) nothing. . . just couldn't sleep. figured I could give this thing another try but...I still don't know what to do with this piece of crap .
Karri: that didn't sound like a piece of crap.
Arthor: its supposed to be a weapon. A nice song wont stop Raxis.
Karri: maybe not, but I'm sure you will figure it out, you always do.
Arthor: yeah...right. why are you up here anyway, you should be asleep.
Karri: So should you.
Arthor: I told you already, I couldn't sleep. (moment of silence as karri walks over to him)
Karri: what's going on?
Arthor: nothing. I'm fine.
Karri: Clearly. look, you might be able to get away with it with the others, but you cant lie to me, so tell me what's going on!?
Arthor: Im Scarred! okay!?
karri: ( is caught off guard)
Arthor: Is that what you wanted!?
Karri: Arthor...
Arthor: "Hough"....Every day for the last four years I have replayed that day over and over. no matter how strong we get, no matter how happy everyone seemed...it wouldn't stop. ( voices echo ) TENEBRIS! (arthor continues) I feel like we finally found a family....I don't know what I would do if I loose that. (a long moment of silence)
Karri: ( looks sad ) you know, you were my hero. when mom and dad...left. all I could do is cry. (flash back to 2 kids in a dark room looking through a cracked door. two legionaries are talking with a older man he looks back at the door. one boys crying and the other just stares. )
Young arthor: ( doesn't look back but says) It's just you and me and you now. But it's going to be okay... (karri looks up and sees arthor just staring without expression on his face) as long as we have each other. ( karri looks at Arthors arm and sees the bracelet hanging. cuts back to the present)
karri: and you know what...
Arthor: (sadly looking away. karri hits him on the shoulder) what? (looks at karri and sees him looking at him with a smile but but clearly sadness in his eyes.)
Karri: . . .you still are.
Arthor: what?
Karri: Fear doesn't make you weak. it makes us stronger. we fight harder when there's something to loose.
Arthor: "heh" ...not bad. (arthor smiles) where'd you learn that?
Karri: I learned it from you.
Arthor: (shocked)
Karri: Its just me and you right. (still holding his hand in a fist out)
Arthor: Always (he puts his fist against karri's)
Karr: (wipes his eyes) well then, if you cant sleep might as well use the time for something good. (he starts walking out a bit and takes out 2 practice swords from a rack on the ship. he turns back and his eyes spark as he throws arthor the sword)
(Tenebris looks at them from the helm deck through a window. he smiles)
CHAPTER 111 WHILE WE'RE HERE
(the chapter opens with melody's footsteps on the train, then it flashes to Kiera's steps in the crumbling building. then it shows melody's back as she walks past legionaries and citizens on the train then it cuts to Keira's back walking through the crumbling building with legionaries helping injured civilians out. it cuts to keira's face as she looks down she sees the mother on the ground )
Sam: ( in the background getting more and more audible) Keira...Keira....Keira.
Keira: (snaps back to her looking out of the window of the train). . .
Sam: are you okay?
Keira: yeah, where were we?
Sam: we were talking about what the attacks on the villages.
Keira: Right. (she sits down)
Melody: (walks up and sits some drinks on the table)
Keira: whats this?
Melody: tea. I know you must be tired from all the traveling and fighting.
Keira: oh...thank you.
Sam: ooh did I get tea too?
Melody: no. something better.(pushes over the glass to Sam)
Sam: chocolate milk, awesome!
Melody: any progress?
Keira: unfortunately not they're covering their tracks well. Not a single sighting of Kongur in the towns attacked by demons. how about you, any news?
Melody: no reports of demons attacks, Kongur activity, or leads on the missing Royals.
Keira: (puts her hand on her temples and covers her face)
Melody: (notices Keira) We will reach Elsfield by sunrise.
Keira: but until then we need to figure out somthing. there are too many lives at steak for us to sit here with nothing.
Melody: (looks at Keira and Sam and sits down) listen. I know its hard. People put their lives in your hands and you feel like you let them down. but there is nothing you can do. like it or not bad things will always happen. we cant control that. but we can make it a little bit better. ( puts her hand on Keira's shoulder) your doing the best you can, we all are. but we just don't have anything to go off of. you cant find something that's not there. (she stands up) I suggest getting some rest. start fresh tomorrow.
Keira: maybe your right. we've been looking for these guys for the last 3 months and were no closer than when we started. ( she looks at her reflection in the tea as melody starts walking off)
Sam: (stops drinking her milk)
Keira: ( Keira squints at her reflection) something that isn't there? (she puts the drink down and starts rummaging through the notes) that's it! (melody turns back)
Sam: what's it?
Keira: (starts sorting through the notes) Chaos doesn't just nullify orku, it absorbs it.
Sam: So?
Keira: So, every demon we've come acrost has had no orku, anda or any other energy left after being corrupted, except for one. (she puts the report of the war at the border down)
Melody: magnus?
Keira: he was the only one to have both chaos energy and orku. Every other demon has been a guardian class legionary.
Sam: So there must be a limit to how much energy the chaos can absorb, that's why the Kongur have been transforming only guardian class legionaries. but how does this help us find the ones turning people into demons?
Keira: If there is a large enough quantity of chaos energy it would completely drain the surrounding area of its orku. they have been covering their trail with demon attacks to make us think there the ones that drained the orku. Send a message to every city, tell them to send legionaries out to search for abnormally low traces of orku. We just might be able to catch the Kongur before they corrupt another legionary.
Melody: (melody smiles) I'm on it.
Keira: (takes a seat) we finally have a lead.
(Melody walks into a train car with a whole bunch of legionaries just passing the time, some playing cards.)
Melody: Send a message to every surrounding city we found a way to track the Kongur.
(the legionaries all get up and sit down at different radio stations on the train and put on headsets. their eyes start glowing as the radios light up and they send out the messages, one Legionary looks over at melody as she walks past. his eyes flash black as he says the message)
(it cuts over to the Kongur building at night, then to a dark room with Raxis and the other Kongur higher ups sitting around, Gregor sharpening weapons, Nyx and Nox sparing, Ehud arm wrestling Leon with a few other members sitting around them. one Kongur member sitting at a small makshift radio station with a headset on. he takes the headset off and walks over to Valka and whispers in her ear. she nods and walks over to raxis with Barron and magnus standing on either side of him)
Valka: my lord, our spies on the immortal have reported in. they have found a way to track the chaos energy.
Raxis: hmm.
Barron: should I make preparations for our departure?
Raxis: No. Let them find us, The immortal has been a thorn in my side for too long. besides, Im sure our newest addition would love to see some friendly faces. (it cuts to a shot of Demion in chains with black and red hair and metal mask that covers his entire face except for his one eye that glows with black energy)
CHAPTER 112 HIDDEN BY NOTHING
(the chapter opens with the crew of the Crimson moon at sunset. Karri standing on the crows nest with Johsef on his shoulder, he takes out the camera and takes a picture of the sunset over the horizon, it pans down to Arthor sparring against machi, it cuts to lykoi in his room with ulfer laying next to him while he is trying to translate the book. it cuts to Tenebris on the bridge steering the ship with Svangur leaning against the wall behind him. )
Tenebris: We should reach Sedanss by the morning.
(they both sit in silence for a moment)
Svangur: I'm sorry for dragging you all into this.
Tenebris: No need to apologize. If the Kongur are involved then it must be stopped.
Svangur: The Kongur. Your group seems to have quite the past with them.
Tenebris: at this point its hard to meet someone who doesn't. (svangur walks next to tenebris and looks out the window)
Svangur: I don't suppose owing them money is cause for sending me after you. so what's you're story, if you don't mind me asking?
Tenebris: Their leader, Raxis, is set on destroying Jericho. And he believes he needs those twins to do it.
Svangur: Jericho? Like the barrier between earth and the spiritual realms? what would they have anything to do with that?
Tenebris: He said he needed the power of the ones who put it there.
Svangur: Meaning the six immortals. And he believes those two posses that power?
Tenebris: As far as we know, that's what he believes.
Svangur: hmm. I can tell they have potential. especially that one. (nods to arthor who stands with his eyes glowing green on the deck below)
( it cuts to the deck as arthor dashes at machi whose holding 2 short training swords. Machi swings at arthor who slides under the attack and swipes at machi's legs but machi steps back and it barely misses. arthor jumps back as machi swings around and swipes at him. Arthor's eyes glow bright green as energy burst beneath his foot and he launches himself at machi who locks blades with him. machi not moving as his eyes glow red, energy spikes as he sends arthor sliding back into the mast. arthor stops and looks up to see machi running at him. machi slashes at arthor whose eyes flash green and he jumps up and off the mast as machi swipes at him but misses. Arthor lands and pushes his sword towards machi, but as he does he flashes back to him in the Egranian place pinned against the wall and his eyes stop glowing and he slows down. machi hits his practice sword away and pushes arthor back. Arthor falls backward as machi swings his other sword at arthor and stops short of his face as wind rushes around the both of them. Arthor sits on the ground breathing heavily and machi stands with one practice sword next to Arthors face also breathing heavily. )
Machi: whoo! that was a close one. (he lowers the sword and offers his hand)
Arthor: (looks stunned for a moment then grabs his hand and machi pulls him up)
Machi: I thought for sure you had me at the end there, but it looks like my streak stays intact. 37-0. (notices no comeback from arthor who stands just looking blankly at his hand)you alright?
Arthor: yeah.....I'm good.
Machi: Alright? Anyway, I can tell all that training is paying off. (he pats him on the head) keep it up and you might beat me next time. (he walks off)
Arthor: (looks at his hand shaking. he closes his fist angrily and starts walking away) (it cuts to tenebris and Svangur looking down at them)
Svangur: but they are still just children. thier emotions are unstable. ( tenebris looks down and sees arthor walking below deck. It cuts to arthor closing the door to his room, he leans against the door and looks at his shaking hands and quickly flashes back to the Egran throne room with karri tied up and tenebris on the dead on the floor, then back to looking at his hands, then to tempura staring up at Svangur as he walks past everyone on the floor. he starts hyperventilating as he slides down the door to the floor until he hears a knock on the door. it cuts to the outside of the door with tenebris standing in the hall. Arthor opens the door a little bit.)
Arthor: what do you want?
Tenebris: I wanted to talk.
Arthor: Then go talk to karri or your new pal.
Tenebris: let me rephrase that, I need to talk with you.
Arthor: cant this wait im tired.
Tenebris: because you were training last night instead of getting sleep.
Arthor: ( kinda shocked but tries not to show it ) . . .yeah. (opens the door and tenebris walks in)
Tenebris: (walks over and grabs a chair and puts it next to Arthors bed. ) sit down.
Arthor: why?
Tenebris: Sit.
Arthor: (grudgingly walks over and sits on his bed)
Tenebris: I'm going to talk and I just want you to listen. when we get to the meeting point I want you and karri to stay back and keep watch.
Arthor: I thought we already had this discussion, that's not happening.
Tenebris: I told you to listen. we're on our own for this one. no back up, no one to help if something goes wrong. Knowing the Kongur that's bound to happen. I don't want you and karri to get caught in the crossfire when things get serious.
Arthor: We can handle ourselves in a fight, especially one against a enemy we know better than anyone else here.
Tenebris: You are not ready yet to fight them again.
Arthor: Just say it, you don't think we strong enough!
Tenebris: No. Its because I know you are.
Arthor: (shocked) ?
Tenebris: you might one day be even stronger than I am. and that's why I cant let you fall into the wrong hands. Raxis wants you and karri for a reason. So we cannot let that happen no matter what.
Arthor: if your worried about something going wrong, then you need all the help you can get.
Tenebris: (grabs Arthors arm and holds up his arm and his hand is shaking) do you think this will help?
Arthor: (tries to pull back his arm but tenebris easily holds it)
Tenebris: You have been pushing yourself too far. Your physically and emotionally drained. if you keep pushing yourself there will be consequences.
Arthor: I can handle it.
Tenebris: I believed that when I was young too. and look where that got me.
Arthor: (looks at his bandaged arm) well I'm not you.
Tenebris: Arthor, this is serious.
Arthor: you don't think I know that? (as he looks away from tenebris)
Tenebris: (sits in silence for a moment) . . . We'll reach Sedanss by the morning. (he stands up and puts the chair back) get some rest. ( walks out the door and closes it behind him. )
Arthor: (looks at the door almost concerned. they lays down in his bed)
CHAPTER 113 TO THE EDGE
(The chapter opens with Keira, Sam, and Melody stepping off the train with legionaries around them at sunrise. they are greeted by a master class legionary woman with short black hair with a braid in Sedanss armor. she stands at attention as the group stops by her. )
M/C Legionary: Melody Jonsdottir of the 9th royal legion , Keira Alléon of the 1st immortal legion, and Sam Sigurdsson A.R.K. of the first immortal legion. Welcome to Elsfield.
Melody: Please there's no need to be so formal.
M/C Legionary: Yes Mam.
Keira: any reports on the Kongur?
M/C Legionary: the outpost isn't far from here, we can discuss our findings there.
(they get into a transport and start driving away. the legionary spy watching the truck as it leaves, he sneaks into an alleyway and pulls out a metal radio looking device and his eyes light up and it cuts to several Kongur members with full black shoals and masks on, looking down with a telescope from a cliff face outside of town. It cut to the Crimson Moon at sunrise, it cuts to tenebris in his room sitting on his bed. He hears a knock on his door. it cuts to him opening the door with a shirt on. Lykoi and Ulfer stand outside with the book and papers)
Tenebris: lykoi? your up early.
Lykoi: I finished translating what I could. I still was not able to translate every word but I gave it my best guess.
Tenebris: Really? your done already?
Lykoi: It was not difficult once I translated the letters, but there was one weird thing about this.
Tenebris: yeah?
Lykoi: There is several pages missing
Tenebris: what do you mean?
Lykoi: (opens the book to the middle of the book where 2 pages are seemingly ripped out)
Tenebris: any idea what could have been on those pages?
Lykoi: no idea. entry 5 ends here and 7 starts here.
Tenebris: A complete entry is missing? hmm. Thank you doing this lykoi, I really appreciate it.
Lykoi: (his mostly stoic face smiles slightly) glad I could help. (he starts walking away with ulfer) (it cuts to tenebris walking up the stairs to the deck where Svangur is steering the ship. )
Svangur: we entered Sedanss jurisdiction. We have not been stopped by any legionary ships yet. But it may be best if we dock and travel the rest on land. If I am found on your ship, a confrontation is likely.
Tenebris: might not be a bad idea. lets find a spot to dock that is outside of city limits.
(it cuts to the gang docking the ship in a small cave near the edge of Sedanss. it cuts to the gang on the bridge looking at a map. )
Svangur: The marked meeting point is just outside Burreth in the mountains. There is a path through the mountains leading to the marked spot. we should go undetected from the legions there.
Tenebris: once we're there, Svangur will take me in as his prisoner. machi, lykoi and ulfer will stay outside until we give the signal. Arthor and karri will act as our scouts and take out any backup. but until we get to the meeting point use as little orku as possible. we have no idea what is ahead of us and we'll have to be ready for anything. Lykoi your experienced in traversing mountains so you'll take point.
lykoi: yes.
(johsef pecks Tenebris leg)
Johsef: " chirp"
Tenebris: as for you, we need someone to watch the ship, make sure nothing bad happens to it. can we trust you johsef?
Johsef: " nods and chirps with confidence"
Tenebris: then that settles it. Is everyone packed and ready to go?
Karri, machi, johsef, lykoi: Yeah!
Arthor: ready as ever (puts his dagger in his sheath)
Svangur: ( nods )
(they all set off and start walking out of the cave. it cuts to a view of them leaving from afar and it shows 2 figures with black shoals on and masks looking at them with a telescope. it cuts to the Kongur hideout where Raxis and the others are sitting around the room. a man with a black mask and shoal on walks in and kneels down.)
Kongur spy: all targets are accounted for my lord.
Raxis: (smiles) Valka, gather our forces. they will not get away from us this time.
CHAPTER 14 ARRIVAL
(the chapter opens with Lykoi and ulfer in a tree high on the mountain looking over the path ahead of them.)
Lykoi: there is a clearing up ahead, we can find a clear path from there. (he jumps down and continues walking forward followed by karri, then arthor then Svangur and tenebris. after a moment machi walks past breathing heavily and sweating. they get to the clearing and tenebris pulls out the map and starts looking at it with lykoi. Machi stumbles up the hill)
Machi: finally! (he throws his pack down and sits on a rock) Oh man (takes out a waterskin from his pack and drinks) ah. we almost there?
Tenebris: we're still over a day away.
Machi: WHAT!? We've already been traveling for so long!
Arthor: its been 4 hours. are you tired already?
Machi: hey, its not fair. you guys are short and have tiny legs, the airs harder to breath all the way up here.
Tenebris: can we focus please. (tenebris points to a place on the map and lykoi looks out and points)
Lykoi: we should be able to get there before nightfall.
Tenebris: good. we can set up camp there. alright. lets get moving.
(everyone starts walking away)
Machi: UGGHHH! (grabs his backpack and puts his waterskin in it. his eyes glow a faint red and he looks around quickly but doesn't see anything. ) hmm. (starts walking away it shows a shadowy figure peaking out from behind a tree with a black shoal and black mask on. it cuts to the gang walking through the forested mountain)
(while the gang is walking tenebris looks blankly off into the distance)
[ flashback from a first person view of a forest path]
Alex/Erit/Marx : guys over here! come on!
Skye: we found this amazing spot, you guys are going to love it. (she runs ahead up the mountain)
Tenebris: we're coming! just give us a minute! (he looks back and sees the woman with white hair, teal eyes and glasses) you alright? [ flashback ends ]
Karri: you good?
Tenebris: (looks at him) yeah. just thinking.
Karri: whatcha thinking about?
Tenebris: (smiles slightly) all the adventures we'll have when the Kongur are behind bars.
Karri: (smiles big) sounds good to me.
Arthor: lets not get ahead of ourselves. we still have a battle ahead of us.
Tenebris: your right.
Svangur: can not loose focus of the present for hope of the future. a lesson I have learned well in my lifetime.
Karri: so how old are you exactly?
Svangur: Due to Tempurian lifespans far exceeding that of the other races, their numerical system of age is quite different to your view.
Karri: ? ? ?
Tenebris: in simpler terms, old but not really.
Karri: oh so like you?
Svangur: correct, although I can imagine Tenebris is far older then I am.
Karri: really? is that true?
Tenebris: well seeing as though I have spent most of the time on tempura you'd be correct.
Karri: so how old are you then?
Tenebris: don't know. haven't cared enough to remember for a long time now.
Karri: you know you move well for an old man.
Tenebris: did you not just hear him, Tempurians age differently! (it pans up from the forest and back down to the legionary building where Keira, Sam and melody step out of the transport with legionaries following them. they walk in the building as it cuts to them opening the doors to a room with legionaries sitting at the large radio stations and looking at a map on a table. they walk over to the table and a legionary salutes and walks away)
M/C Legionary: We recived your instructions to search the city for areas with no orku sources.
Keira: have you found anything?
M/C Legionary: Yes. (she points a city between the mountains and the coast) Reports matching your parameters were found in Burreth just on the other side of the gulf, on the outskirts of the Brotinn district. no orku signatures were recorded there. however there were several transports recorded going towards that side of the city. We have blocked off all travel to and from the district.
Melody: Its a perfect location. they have Access to the port and can stay inside the city without legionary patrol.
Sam: they have to be there!
Keira: the only problem is, there have been demon sightings all over Sedanss. Even if they were to travel by ship they are moving from place to place too fast.
Sam: maybe they have multiple outpost.
Keira: its possible. but unlikely. every village they have attack there were no traces of the Kongur.
Melody: We can worry about the details later, for now Burreth is our best option.
Keira: (thinks for a moment) then Burreth it is. prep a ship for departure. (it cuts back to the gang in the forest at night. machi, arthor, karri, tenebris, and ulfer are asleep .Around the campfire, machi is snoring, arthor is holding his dagger in his hand as he sleeps next to karri, tenebris is sitting against a tree with his arms crossed and ulfer sleeping next to lykoi. Svangur is standing guard far from camp. Lykoi opens his eyes and gets up. ulfer picks his head up)
Lykoi: Það er í lagi, ég ætla bara að sækja mér vatn. Farðu aftur að sofa. { It is okay, I am just going to get some water. go back to sleep. }
( ulfer lays his head back down and goes to sleep as lykoi gets up quietly and walks away with a water skin. it cuts to him at a small stream as he fills the waterskin and drinks from it. He sits down on a rock near the water)
Lykoi: "hough" ( it shows lykoi sitting looking out at the water and in the forest behind him karri walks past a tree. then backs up and looks over at lykoi and walks towards him. )
Karri: Hey.
Lykoi: (turns around with his eyes glowing blue) karri...apologies. you startled me.
Karri: Sorry about that.
Lykoi: what are you doing out here.
Karri: well I was going to find a place to use the bathroom. what are you doing out here?
Lykoi: I am getting water.
Karri: (notices his sadness) right, right. (he sits down next to him) its beautiful out here isn't it?
Lykoi: Yes. it it. this remind me of my home. In the middle of sumar the snow would melt for a week, and the forest would reveal its true beauty. The green of the trees was so vibrant. Every year My friend and I would go to the valley. flowers we call holtasóley would cover the ground as far as the eye could see.
Karri: sounds amazing.
Lykoi: it was. (silence for a moment)
Karri: do you miss it?
Lykoi: I do.
Karri: Good. Then there's no need to be sad about it. (he stands up)
Lykoi: what do you mean?
Karri: You keep that memory close to your heart right? (he puts his fist over his chest)
Lykoi: close to my heart?
Karri: it's special to you.
Lykoi: I suppose it is.
Karri: then be happy that you have memories like that. Keep it close to you and never loose it. When everything else tries to bring you down, remember the fields and let that memory give you strength to make new ones just like it! (he smiles big at him)
Lykoi: hmm. . . . do you have a memory like that?
Karri: (his smile gets smaller) yeah. (he looks down to his bracelet)
Lykoi: (sees the bracelet) (smiles slightly) Then I will hold this memory close to my heart, until I make another like it.
Karri: Great! now that your happier, I'm going to go use the bathroom. (he walks off)
Lykoi: (looks back at the water as he leaves. then looks back) Be careful what leaves you use, the Foxglove leaves are poisonous!
