  Well, I was working hard on my Ambercaast landscape in Unreal Engine this week, and was really happy with it; then the level crashed yesterday and nuked the auto material. So fun. I haven't repaired it yet, and I hope I can. I'm not skilled in 3D; I'm learning. It means something like this will take hours to fix. *cry cry*
  Not looking forward to getting into 3D character creation, because I'll have more problems like this and I don't have much time right now to really sit down and learn through mistakes. And in reality, I want more of a 2 1/2 D look to my characters, and I don't know how all this will work together.

  I ALMOST got Ambercaast 2nd edition up before publishing the Windtwists chapter, but not quite. So that's my goal for today; get it up after I update social media.
  For the 2nd edition, I mostly broke up chapters while fixing some typos and rewriting awkward sentences to make things flow a bit better. If you've read Ambercaast, it's still the same story.
  Of course, since Re-caast is a continuation of threads cast down in Ambercaast, you might want to check it out again :)

  ****   While I should get going on revamping Wellspring Dragons, or focus on updating Evenacht's style to be more island-y, or get Fourth Wall up and running (which, I admit, is terrifying for me), I'll probably spend it playing Crimson Desert.   We all have priorities, right?   That said, I hope to have the new Evenacht silhouette pic up soon. It's kinda fun, drawing them and expressing something without facial expressions.   Here's half of it.

Windtwist Isles is now Live!

The first two chapters of the new Evenacht serial are live!   Read Ch 1 and Ch 2.   Vantra is ready to begin the journey to the Windtwist Isles, but the enemy has not given up.   And then there's Qira.

The End of Greenglimmer and Other Updates

I'm sad, y'all! Greenglimmer has finished its final act! We've three chapters this week, Chapter 74, Chapter 75 and the Epilogue.   The rainforest can only begin to heal once Navosh has awoken, and Vantra and company must protect him until he does. Plus, the epilogue!

The mini-Joyful travel to the Windtwist island chain in search of Laken's next essence. Lorgan knows the general location, and when they discover it's at the bottom of the largest ocean whirlpool in the islands, despair ensues. How are they going to reach it and remain whole? Mera and Tally's families have chosen Temptest Isle as their extended home, but the anticipated joyous return becomes mired in ugly betrayal.   Add in their unknown enemy and their minions hounding them, and you're in for more dark, epic adventures in the Evenacht!   Windtwist Isles will be free to read here at World Anvil, published bi-weekly on Fridays by 2:00 PM. Basically, same time, same place. I'm taking two months to get a break in, then draw the cover, update the booksite, and get things ready without a frantic rush (haha, I'll probably wait til the last minute because of course I will).   ****   This week I also:   Published the 4th Wellspring Dragons book!!!. *crying tears of joy that it's finally out* You can read the first chapter at Manuscripts, too!   I drew new covers for books 1-3 to match Abyss of Dreams, and uploaded the new editions with title changes to D2D and BnN, but not Amazon 'cause I'm done with them. And, of course, there was the book site to update with the covers and universal links...   I'm exhausted. And I haven't finished Spooktober yet, so that will be my goal for tonight!   Re-Caast chapters will go live bi-weekly on Fridays by 2:00 PM at Manuscripts--basically, same chaser time, same chaser place.

  Greenglimmer is coming to an end, though I'm not certain exactly how many chapters are left. I'll be taking at least a month break before the next book, Windtwist, begins.
  Lorgan finds another of Laken's hidden essences--and it's at the bottom of an ocean whirlpool in the Windtwist Isles. Combined with problems with Mera and Tally's families, adventure plagues Vantra and company, rather than beach-time relaxing.

  And with that, I'm going to get to work on the original art for the Re-Caast book cover. I'm so far behind--but y'all already knew that :)

  Greenglimmer is drawing to a close. The exciting finale is coming--then on to The Windtwist Isles, where an ocean might keep Vantra and company from retrieving Laken's next essence. The mini-Joyful returns, with appearances from the Badeçasyons. Vantra will learn more about their enemy, and what's at stake beyond Laken's Redemption.
  When Greenglimmer ends (within the next few months*) I'll be taking a break to prepare for the next installment. Details coming in the future. And, as always, The Windtwist Isles will follow the same bi-weekly publishing schedule and remain free to read at Manuscripts!
  *There is one caveat: my father is in at-home hospice, and when he passes, it will affect my publishing schedule.

  I don't have another update, since August has been a busy month of working on my new Wellspring book and judging my sponsored prompt.
  My prompt had lots of great articles, and it was hard to choose a winner! I whittled it down, and finally relied on spelling errors to decide the winner. Always put your work through spellcheck, y'all, even if you don't think you have a chance to win, cause you never know.

  I don't have any more updates this week. My father entered in-house hospice, and I've spent my week choosing a coffin and getting a new, combined headstone for both my mom and dad, and end-of-life stuff. I'm sad, depressed, and it's going to be a rough August.
  At least I have a lot of articles to judge for Summer Camp to keep me busy.

Broken Dulcet Chs 61-Epilogue are Live! and I've Almost Reached Gold!

Tis the end of Broken Dulcet! We have 3 chapters this week, to wrap things up. Take a bit of time this weekend and read Chapter 61,   Chapter 62 and Epilogue.   Lapis has no idea what to feel, now that the Dentherion Empire's influence in Jilvayna has come to an abrupt end. Midir also has an offer she cannot refuse.  
    It's been a ride, all! Here ends the Jilvayna Chronicles arc of Lapis of Nicodem. We'll start Re-cast, the first book in the Chaser Chronicles, sometime in September. Lapis and Patch join the new government, the Wolf Collaborate, as chasers, and their stakes will be those who escaped justice for the ills they wrought on Jilvayna, as well as discovering what, exactly, Mesaalle Kez wants.   And, as with all chapters of this serial, the next book will continue to be FREE to read here at Manuscripts, our wonderful World Anvil writing platform.   #sciencefantasy #epicfantasy   ****   I have three more articles to write today to reach gold.   I just have to say, after what's happened with itch.io this week, that I'm eternally grateful to have Manuscripts. I don't have to worry about my books getting shadowbanned or taken down because they have sexy times or LGBTQ+ characters. Diversity is supported, not repressed (while I know that the payment processors pushed the bans, the way they happened at itch speaks loud imo).

I was so excited, I rushed to show my honey, and he thought something was very wrong because I couldn't speak, I just jumped up and down. I ran all day with that high.

  I'm hoping to have the new covers for Wellspring Dragons done by the end of the month (1 for the new release in hopefully August, the other for the re-issues and paperbacks). I'm hoping the paperbacks don't get too expensive. Just figures, when I decide to go the paper route, "things" happen to make materials more expensive :/

  The next installments of Lapis of Nicodem and Evenacht will come later this year. As I'm a pantser, I'm not certain exactly how much 'later', but if it's around the time of the Abyss of Dreams release, I might have to push those into the future by a month or two.

Abyss of Dreams, The Wellspring Dragons Book 4, will be out later this year.   Since he could toddle, Sikode dreamed of becoming a dragon companion, and Shiobe, riding the whirlwind of becoming the first dragon companion in a thousand years, plans to help him.   Now that his dream is within his grasp, they discover the bloodmage enemy that plagued them in Merren threatens the countryside around the Abyss, the lair of Lajaka, Ice Dragon of Lassa. Blood marks the enemies' trail to the Abyss, but their reason for trespassing is hidden within the darkest clouds of the twilight mists.

You can check it out here.   I finished my judging for WorldEmber but I haven't gotten to the reading/goals Jan challenge. Basically, my father had a heart attack in December, I've been planning the trip to visit him while watching the LA fires and hoping we don't have to evacuate. It's been a bit stressful and not conducive to much reading (or writing, but I plowed through).   I'll be leaving tomorrow to see my dad. I still plan to publish the next Broken Dulcet chapter next Friday, but depending on my access to the internet in rural Wyoming and how the visit goes, that might not happen. You are forewarned.   And since I'll be traveling this Saturday and next Saturday, I'll be missing the WE awards stream :(.   ****   Take care, all.
