Bevan is a third generation alchemist like his father and grandfather before him. He apprenticed in theDuchy of Gwynllan.
After becoming a journeyman, he put a lot of emphasis on the journey part of the title traveling around Swynfaredia chasing demand, so he can fetch the highest price for his services, and because he kind of likes traveling. Bevan has the skills of a master alchemist, but because he doesn't fixed address, the title of "master alchemist" has eluded. Masters by definition, own their own workshop. He plans to settle down with his own shop eventually.
Bevan doesn't get involved in political events if he can help it, but he has seen and heard a lot of things.
Employment
Bevan has avoided taking a permanent position as a court or temple alchemist, preferring to work freelance.
He will dabble in illegal alchemical concoctions, but still has scruples (or so he tells himself). He won't make deadly poisons.

Bevan is the great-grandson of a House Gorisonad. sorceress, but his non-sorcderegrandfather gave up the family surname when he opted to marry a commoner woman. a fairly common occurance, not scandalous. His family line has married commoners ever since.
In the unlikely event that Beven had a son or daughter with sorcery, his Gorisinod cousins would probably come knocking on his door, but as long as his family line remains sorcery-free, they are content to ignore him.
