fake satyr horns

In East Colassia, if you see a mostly human looking person with pointy ears they are probably either half dark elf or a half-satyrs.   In the lands controlled by the Colassian Confederacy, half-satyrs are usually treated a lot better, so they do not want to be mistaken for half-dark elves. They have a tendency to bring up that they are half-satyrs at every opportunity. A relatively recent fashion trend has emerged is for half-satyrs to wear hats with fake horns.

Manufacturing process

Fake satyr horns can use almost any hat or turban as a baseline. Fake horns are sewn in.   In general Scarterran satyrs find it taboo to eat goat meat, wear goat fur, or even eating goat cheese. Because domesticated goats are so ubiquitous in East Colassia, many Confederate satyrs are not as bothered by this, but some are.   Likewise, some half-satyrs in the Confederacy choose to use actual goat horns (not satyr horns though). Others will make fake horns. Often out of wood. Some make floppy drooping horns out of cloth.   Half-satyr warriors commonly pay extra to have metal horns added to their helmets.

What about half-elves wearing fake satyr horns?

If half-satyrs are treated better than half-elves in the lands of the Confederacy, and half-satyrs and half-elves look almost indistinguishable, wouldn't it make sense for a half-elves to slap on some fake horns and thus pretend to be a half-satyr.   Most wouldn't dare. If a half-elf is caught pretending too be a half-satyr in Confederate territory, the best they can expect is publish shaming.
