Yellowtree County
Yellowtree County is a feudal state of Duchy of Frymar controlled by Sabbatzarod Coven named for distinctive yellow leafed trees near a magic font.
This is the only feudal coven in all of Fumaya.
Demographics
The area is roughly 80% human, 9% gnomes, 4% satyrs, 3% tengku, 3.5% half-human half-elves/half-satyrs, 0.5% other.
Government
The Yellowtree County is part of the Feudal Hiearchy except instead of being led by a feudal lord, the County is led by a cabal of elder mages.
For the peasants working the land and the soldiers defending the land, daily life is pretty similar to the rest of Fumaya.
Industry & Trade
The region's agricultural surplus feeds the Sabbatzarod Coven with only a token amount paid to the Duke of Frymar. The county pays most of their feudal tithe via potions.
Ivanna City is outside of the borders of the Yellowtree County, but Ivanna City is very close to the border, so a large portion of the Yellowtree's trade is conducted here.
Sabbatzarod Coven members are exempt from most commercial tolls in Ivanna City as a fringe benefit and they own a few inns in Ivanna City that are free to Coven members.
Guilds and Factions
The Sabbatzarod Coven is a loose alliance of non-Hermetic mages including body wizards, (mostly fae) warlocks, folk magicians, and a few oddball sorcerers and sorcresses (mostly expatriated Swynfaredians)
The Coven has loose factions based around the origin of their magic but the real division is between politically active and politically inactive members.
Any mage that is accepted into the coven can enjoy the benefits (cheaper reagents plus free food and lodging throughout Fumaya) if they pay their anual dues or occasionally perform and errand or favor for the Coven. Selling potions or scrolls to other Coven members at a discount is usually all a casual member needs to do to maintain his or her membership status.
Geography
Lightly hilly mix of farmland and woodlands dotted with lakes and streams.
Climate
Temperate with hot summers, cold winters, and wet springs.
Natural Resources
The main resource of the Yellowtree County is farmland which mostly grows staple crops, though there is modest timberland, pastureland, and fresh water fish which is also useful for the locals.
The most unique resource is the reagents grove, centered largely on the namesake yellow trees. Even with the local reagent production, the area imports a lot of reagents and sponsors a lot of reagent foragers in the nearby Northwest Forest.
