"I'm not opposed to human market fairs, but they don't do much for me. I am am rather fond of the Orra Market Fair. It doesn't attract the giant crowds that other market fairs tend to receive, but in a way you get quality over quantity. It's certainly a very interesting assortment of characters. I mainly go to this fair for the entertainment value, but I've met a few new clients at this fair."   -Nuldrun Dragonbane, freelance castle engineer
Some Border Barons have tried, but most attempts to create a market fair in the Border Baronies have been lackluster at best. The Orra Market Fair which borders the Border Baronies is the closest thing they have to a trade far. This lets Borderlanders an economic link the more civiiled world and it helps the Fumayans living near the Borderlands to keep tabs on new developments among their chaotic neighbors to the west.

History

Tapukeah Orra was a relatively obscure historical figure, but it was politically convenient for House Nerozik to pretend she was important.   The Neroziks wanted to sponsor a market fair that drew in lots of visitors from the Border Baronies Region, and Orra suited their needs. Tapukeah Orra was Eclipse-Touched adventurer of yesteryear who had a Fumayan father and Borderlander mother and she had a birthday in midsummer summer which happens to be the easiest time to travel safely through the Borderlands.

Execution

It's a general market fair where in theory anything goes.   The Borderlands often feature their best woodcrafts and they often sell various reagents. Borderlanders are are often seeking luxury goods that they cannot easily find in the Border Baronies, especially wines and fine clothes.

Participants

While technically the King of Fumaya has the final say on everything involving this trade fair, this trade fair is really an extension of House Nerozik. The Neroziks and their allies handle all the details of planning the event and the king signs off on it as a formality.   Because it's technically celebrating a historical Khemra-affiliated historical figure, the Neroziks include the Fumayan Keepers in a small role and give them a percentage of the tolls and fees they collect.   The Orra Fair is publicly open to anyone willing to make the journey but the core purpose is to bring Fumayans and Borderlanders together for trade, and that is who the majority of the buyers and sellers are. It's not just bit players either, usually at least a couple Border Barons and Baronesses actually make the trip here in person.   Besided Borderlanders, the fair typically attracts a small number of visitors from Kantoc, Swynfaredia], Meckelorn, and Stahlheim.

Observance

The market fair typically lasts for four days stretching from the 26th day of the month of Embers to the 30th day of Embers. This is roughly analogous to late July on Earth.
