Awen is the second child and only daughter of Countess Cariadna ap Selwyth and Lord Maddoc ap Kovenoth. She is at the awkward where she might be a sorceress or she might be quiescent.
If she does manifest sorcery, she will be the heir apparent to her older brother Count Llewellyn ap Selwyth.

Awen barely remembers her mother. She does not believe she will become a sorceress but her father and brother keep behaving like her being a sorceress is a foregone conclusion, so they push on her the full education worthy of a young Countess.
Her brother told her that even if she doesn't become a sorceress, he would value her support as an advisor though even that prospect is intimidating to her.
