Borderlander Satyrs aka Mountain Goats

The Borderland Satyrs, colloquially known as the Mountain Goats are a relatively small satyr herd with less than a thousand members.   A lot of them are wandering goats, but not all of them. They tend to be more commonly seen in the Principality of Silfûrhëim, the Barony of Bees, the Dread Barony of Mallocaballo, and the Iron Hills Barony more than the others.   Like most groups in the Border Baronies Region, the Mountain Goats are a hodgepodge of different ethnicities thrown together.   A majority of Mountain Goats are born in the Borderlands region, but it is a slim majority, many satyrs who settle here are outlanders who either rejected their original herd or were cast out by their original herd. Given how informal satyrs usually are, in most cases it's a bit of bit of both. There is a stereotype that the Borderlands attract a lot of riffraff from other lands and there is more than a kernal of truth in this for the Borderland satyrs. Some of the satyr fauns that reject pacifism make their way here, as do Mediterranean satyrs who reject their human work ethnic, and Kionus satyrs who seek less rugged surroundings.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Most Mountain Goats learn Common as their mother tongue. They are roughly equally split on whether they take Dwarven or Elven as their second language.   A few Mountain Goats make it a point to learn several languages, but this is not the norm.

Shared customary codes and values

Outsiders claim the Borderlander satyrs have no values, but they do value self reliance and loyalty, at least to each other if not to those outside their herd.   While not typically pious, they lean toward the values and philosophies of the chaotic deities of Zarthus, Nami, and Maylar.

Common Dress code

There is no formal dress code. Sometimes they prefer to dress to blend in with their suroundings (in a very literal sense in the case of camoflage) and other times they dress to stand out.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Most Borderlander goats have strong earthy and watery elemental ethnicity traits with earthy traits tending to win out by a small margin.   Ruairidh above has obvious earthy traits in his build and pigment. He has a tiny splash of watery traits visible in his blue eyes, and wavy hair.

Keltie has a more even mix of earthy and watery traits resulting in her earthy green pigmentation, general stockiness with pronounced curves, and typical earthy colored hair with a typical watery texture.
