Count of Stagdrift

the Count of Stagdrift is the feudal ruler of the coal rich Stagdrift Hills County The title is unisex, the current ruler is a male count, but he inherited the title from his Countess mother.

Requirements

Pay feudal taxes and see to the welfare of the denizens of the realm. Most of his feudal taxes are paid in steel and coal, the two primary exports of the County.

Responsibilities

See to the welfare and protection of the denizens of Stagdrift Hills County. This is fairly complicated both because the region is not self-sufficient in terms of food production and a lot of the mining workforce is made up of transient laborers which creates jurisdiction issues with the rulers of the homelands of his miners.

Benefits

The Count of Stagdrift recieves all income and taxes from the realm. In this case it means he collects the profits from the realm's mining enterprises, which are substantial.
