House Burza

House Burza is one of the minor houses in the Kingdom of Fumaya associated with strong warriors and the traditional rulers of County of Filipa since the county was established.   The first Burza lord married the granddaughter of Zimoz the Archer and bent the knee as a direct vassal of Duke of Zimoz. They have been a loyal vassal house of House Zimoz ever since.

Structure

Burza men are expected to be very heavily focused on marital pursuits and Burza women are expected to e very focused on managerial pursuits.   House Burza strives to take pride in their actions but not take pride in their status. Burza men normally lead from the front and when on campaign, eat and sleep in the same conditions as their men-at-arms.   Burza women are expected to be fairly self sufficient rather than act like dainty princesses and not shirk from boring or unglamorous tasks.

Culture

Honor and chivalry aren't just buzz words or slogans, but is something House Burza tries to fully embody in all aspects. House Burza has a produced a lot of fine knights and holy warriors though many die young, they die with honor.   They are accused of being a little too focused on their duties and not great at lightening up for festivities and this hurts the House a bit in soft diplomacy.

History

The House was established and recognized when Sir Zajac "The Winter Storm" married Filipa Zimoz, grand daughter of Zimoz the Archer.   Zimoz insisted that the holding be named the County of Filipa but let Zajac choose his own surname which was based on the snow storm his metaphorically tied with.   Since then, House Burza has had a modest but honorable history serving the Duke of Zimoz well over multiple generations.

Religion

Most of the House keeps the Nonagon fully.   Those of the House not in line to inherit land or lucky enought to get a prestigious marriage, usually seek secular roles as warriors or courtiers in other Fumayan courts, but a tiny handful of sons and daughters of the House have joined the Fumayan Guardians though none have manifested theurgy.

Education

House Burza follows traditional gender roles of the upper classes of Fumaya with the men focusing on marital pursuits, not just fighting but military logistics and tactics. Traditionally they will try to arrange marriages between the future Count of Filipa with the best stateswoman they can find.   Burza women are educated to be diplomats and stewards, ideally marriageable to other Fumayan lords of great honor and prestige.
