Mondarian Archipeligo
Geography
The Mondarian Archipelligo is a wide reaching archipelligo of volacanic islands near Scarterra's equator north of the landmass of Penarchia.
Localized Phenomena
In Scarterra, geothermal events have a additional properties not seen on Earth as they represent the the Elemental Plane expelling substances into the mortal planes such as such as ores. The volcanic cycles also facilitates the growth of rare plants which can be used as reagents. Especially on Mokutu, also known as Reagent Island.
Due to influence of elemental energies on mortal creatures, creatures (and people) in the Mondarian Archipelago often have unusual hair or skin coloration due to the mix of fire and water elemental energies. At least unusual compared to other places in Scarterra.
Climate
Tropical, with relatively low seasonal variation, though there is a monsoon season.
Fauna & Flora
The Flora and Fauna onf the Mondarian Archipeligo is based on real-world Polynesia but with a fantasy adventure twist, so all sorts of terrifying monsters crawl out of the sea from time to time.
Natural Resources
Volcanic soil is very fertile, so the relatively small landmasses can yield a surprising amount of crops, and the seas near the islands are rich in sea food. That's consistent with Earth physics.
The region has more metal ores than you'd expect but not as many as most dwarves would like to have.
History
The Mondarian Archipeligo is named after it's inhabitants, the Mondarian dwarves and Mondarian humans who themselves are named after Prince Mondarias who orchestrated the long lasting and very successful alliance between the dwarves and humans. The longest peaceful alliance across species in Scarterran history.
The Talented Zeta Gardner is working on illustrations of what Mondarian dwarves look like but they will not be ready until after Summer Camp 2026. In the mean time, enjoy a Purple Cow.
Tourism
For a long time, most other dwarves assumed Prince Mondarias and his followers all died. They were overjoyed to learn that their kin still live. Sometimes Meckelorner dwarf or Stahlheimer dwarvesadventurers make it a point to visit the Mondarian Archipelligo. And sometimes Mondarians opt to visit their inland cousins.
