I'm a completionist and a tiny voice in my head is telling me to write every prompt, but I'll probably stop at Diamond rather than trying to sweep the field. A handful of the prompts are stumping me.
Week One Prompts, Love
A celebrity loved by all
The catch 22 is that if I made a character like this, I've already written them a bunch and probably used them in the
Master List of Quotes.
If I hadn't written them, yet I'd have to shoehorn a well-known person into my ongoing narrative and pretend they've always been there.
Past characters I made that might qualify.
A tradition that celebrates love
This was the first thing I wrote for Summer Camp 2026, and I'm pretty proud of this one. It's vaguely based on a story I heard about an old Inuit tradition.
An item associated with a common hobby
My friend and I speculated that First Age Dragons would probably like dice games. I filed this idea in the back of my head, and unearthed it to write for this prompt.
A famous love story
No idea yet, I'm not a particularly romantic person. In past WA events, I got out of my comfort zone wrote
Gariela and Sandalius as a traditional love story. I wrote another somewhat cliched love story with a happier ending about a ass-kicking power couple, I can't find the link right now.
But I do like Papa-Wolf and Cub stories so I might try something with an unlikely adoption.
A natural phenomenon associated with fertility
I don't like to neglect Scaraqua too much so I wrote this little article.
A faction that employs questionable methods for the love of their people
This was my second Summer Camp entry. I wrote about the
Paladins long ago, but I opted to flesh out how they operate on the local level so I wrote about the a localized group of them for Summer Camp 2026.
A job many children aspire to
My first thought was
priests and priestesses but I already wrote that one. Or knights, but I kind of already wrote that dispersed many articles, so I combined the two and wrote about holy warriors. I put a lot of polish on this one, because it's a core element of Scarterra's setting.
The language of love in a culture of your world
The prompt probably assumes romantic love, but I wrote about familial love. I had this part of Scarterra for a while, but the article fleshed it out and made it more specific.
A useful substance known for its sticky properties
Maple syrup has a little bit of cultural resonance in Scarterra, so I wrote about it.
A mysterious work of fiction that's spawned conspiracy theories
An interesting theme, but it breaks my brain trying to write a piece of fiction within a fictional world.
Week Two Prompts, Growth
A city that grew out of the ashes of a ruin
This is the capital of
land of Kahdisteria (where the Scarterran dark elves live). For me, this is a good baseline for developing Kahdisteria more in the future, but in this article feels a little dry and textbook as of yet.
A fruit that grows in an unlikely environment
I'm really fond of
Underdusk berries but I wrote that ages ago. My first couple ideas for this prompts were basically cheap knockoffs of underdusk berries, but eventually I thought "what about poison berries?" "What about magic poison berries." And I ended up inventing shadow vines for Summer Camp 2026.
A war that resulted in the expansion of a territory
Scarterra already has a bunch of these, and I haven't always been a fan of the "military conflict" template. I'm not sure I've ever used the template outside of a WA contest. I was going to write about the Oshamni Empire's first inter-species conquest but it turns

Last Worldember, my articles on various dyes were surprisingly well-received and my article
wool in Scarterra was one of my most liked articles ever. So I can't pass up an opportunity to write about medieval inspired fashion.
In my variation research on medieval clothes, it seems linen under garments were very popular underneath wool layers, so linen seemed like an obvious article to write for this prompt.
A profession that helps others develop
I thought about "teacher" at first but that was too broad. Then I was going to go with "midwife" when I started writing it it morphed into a general article on all non-magical physicians.
A building that keeps being expanded over time
I swear I've seen very similar prompt for Summer Camp 2025 "A building that hasn't been finished yet" so I wrote
Kovenoth Palace Complex. My next idea is
also palace related.
A few months ago, I ran an RPG adventure involving a heist on the Swynfaredian Royal Palace and I have assorted heist specific notes for that. It'd be easy enough to use that as a baseline to write about that, but a tiny voice in my head is telling me to do something non-palace related.
A fictional character some believe to be real
Writing a fictional character in a fictional setting gives me a headache. I may have to skip this one.
The Shadow Creeper is a fictional character that was accidentally willed into existence but I wrote about that ages ago.
A body of water that hides a secret in its depths
I had already written about
The bloody storied history of Border Baronies Spot #11, but I was vague on the exact nature on the threat. Now I'm slightly less vague on because I know the threat to Spot #11 lives underground in salty water.
At some future point, I need to flesh out the monster a lot more. It'll be a tough balancing act. I want it to be deadly enough to a be a legendary threat, but not so powerful that a group of determined PCs can't defeat it.
Week Three Prompts, Loss
A religion that no longer exists
I can only refrain from writing about
cannibal mutants for so long.
A myth that inspired modern funerary traditions
Expanding on lore I made for the Tiamalan kobolds. I also renamed them
Renescorin kobolds to put some distance between Scarterran kobolds and Tiamat worship D&D kobolds.
An ancient technology lost to time
I wasn't sure if I wanted to include this as a setting element or not but the Rule of Cool and my friend's encouragement got me off the fence.
A subculture seen as outdated by modern generations
I actually came up with this as a mental tangent from pondering the city prompt.
A military unit known for its incompetence
In general, I'm not a huge fan of the "military unit" template, but this prompt sounds too fun not to write.
A controversial will that changed the course of history
At my friend's suggestion, I wrote this based on a previous article I wrote
succession laws in the Elven Empire. I had the broad concept already, but I filled it in with names and details and more specific descriptions. Instead of "a past monarch" now I can say "King Daketh".
A collector of "lost" things
I like eccentric collectors, but I wish this used the "character" template rather than "rank/title" prompt. I may have to skip this one.
An abandoned building shrouded in mystery
I don't have an idea yet, but this is a fantasy staple, so it shouldn't be too hard to write.
An object that looks edible but isn't
I wouldn't have written this one without a prompt, but I had fund doing it? Well Beltaine Bells be referenced in something else later? I don't know.
A fundamental law of the universe that most people misunderstand
A little esoteric, but it's an idea that was rattling around my head.
Week Four, Family
A species with a intriguing symbiotic relationship
I like this prompt, but I have lots of past articles like this already. That well of inspiration might be running dry.
A character known as the font of a bloodline
I have a lot of these. Most of them are written up already. Most, I can probably find one.
An influential family or dynasty
Again, I have a lot of these written up already. Squeezing in a new one of these would not be easy. Unless I pick a far flung area but that feels like a bit of a cop out.
A celebration involving non-blood family
I had fun writing this. Scarterran holidays is almost a bottomless well of inspiration for article prompts.
An instrument used in family celebrations
Not my normal wheelhouse, but an interesting prompt.
A small town that keeps to itself
Creating such a town is pretty easy. Creating a town like this that will actually be plot relevant in the future, that's tougher.
An archipelago considered a "family" of islands
I can write about this fairly easily. Scarterra has a lot of these. My geographic articles are often a bit dry.
A congenital condition
Not a giant article or a particularly ground breaking one, but I was thinking of adding a flightless kalazotz oracle character later.
A public front used by a criminal organization
I've been working on fleshing out Swynfaredia's mafia, so I might as well give them a fancy restaurant to hang out at.
An invention that connected distant lands
Not sure on this one yet. It's more sci-fi than fantasy, but I can try to figure out something.
